So we have named our DS the same name as my sisters brother in law . It is a short traditional name , do you think this matters ?

They do live close but he is 27 years older ....

I don't think it matters at all

Poppydaisies · 09/08/2020 18:05

A little unoriginal imo.

There are thousands of names!

Firemenswife16 · 09/08/2020 18:45

There are your right but we like this name and it has meaning to us .

I think it’s fine. He’s not closely related, plus he’s that much older. I wouldn’t worry at all.

NoemiaElara · 09/08/2020 19:25

đŸ¤¨.... OP it's fine! They aren't even related at all. They may never even meet!!

BeMorePacific · 09/08/2020 21:18

That’s absolutely fine! I wouldn’t think twice about it xx

EarlGreyJenny · 09/08/2020 21:27

Care not a jot. They are nothing to do with each other.

Dollywilde · 09/08/2020 21:32

So your sister is Anna, married to Bertie, whose sister is Cara, and Cara is married to Dylan? With Dylan being the name?

Or is it Bertie’s brother Charlie who has the same name as baby?

Personally I don’t see the problem - it’s not like you’ve named the baby after Bertie Smile but I guess the extra degree of separation (ie Dylan scenario) would help.

Firemenswife16 · 09/08/2020 21:48

@Dollywilde so sisters husband brother .
So from you example I think haha Charlie

It's fine! Assuming it's something like Tom or James and not something less common like Thor or Lysander.

I'm sure this same question was asked here a week or so. Almost everyone said it was fine.

Dollywilde · 09/08/2020 22:08

@Firemenswife16 haha ok, I was just trying to get it straight in my head!! Either way though I can’t see the problem - how often will they even see each other? Presumably just at events related to your sister?

Firemenswife16 · 09/08/2020 22:09

They would prob see each other twice a year like you say on niece and nephew birthdays !

Too distant to worry about. Crack on!

Dollywilde · 09/08/2020 22:18

Oh yeah in that case go for it! Smile

DramaAlpaca · 09/08/2020 23:38

Of course it's fine.

sorryforswearing · 09/08/2020 23:55

I think it’s fine.
