Can this first name go with this last name?

We have a baby due in late 2020. We like the name Harrison. Our last name is Johnson. Does Harrison Johnson sound reasonable? Or do the ‘son’ endings sound silly together? If so, open to other ideas. Thank you very much for your help.

No, it doesn’t work.

DramaAlpaca · 09/08/2020 23:22

No, it's not a good combination.

percheron67 · 09/08/2020 23:26

Two surnames. Sounds very off.

HillyJilly · 09/08/2020 23:28

I quite like it. But it'll maybe cause confusion for companies when he's an adult as to which name is which.

Blackbear19 · 09/08/2020 23:35

99.9% of the time he'll just be called Harrison not his full name anyway

Professionally men tend to use their full name. "Hello its Harrison Johnston of Joe Bloggs Ltd" Women are really guilty of only using their first name."Hi its Karen at Joe Bloggs"
It was pointed out to me in a book of things women do to jeopardise their own career. And it's so true, once its pointed out you can't help but notice it.

Sorry but they don’t go.

Sounds like a firm of solicitors
I can't stop laughing at this Grin

Harry or Harris but not Harrison.
That's quite interesting @Blackbear19 i would generally only use my first name because i work in a very male dominated industry so most people would know who it is from that when i ring or leave a voicemail. I tend to only give my surname if i'm ringing people I don't already know. Some of my male colleagues we have 3 or 4 of them with the same surname in our office of less than 100 so they often get referred to by both names.

Crazypie · 10/08/2020 13:52

I think it's fine

MyPetPegasus · 11/08/2020 00:02

I have a -son surname and liked some -son first names. In the end we decided it didn't work unfortunately.

How about Henry?

Rubybluesy · 11/08/2020 00:04

Definitely doesn't go... Harry

HopelessSemantics · 11/08/2020 00:05

Go the whole hog and call him Sonson Johnson.

FizzyGreenWater · 11/08/2020 00:13

Harrijon Sonson. Put the problem bits together.

Shouldbedancingyeah · 11/08/2020 00:15
