Alexander Charles or Alexander George?

Hello, me and DW have decided on Alexander for DS1. We want something traditional and one syllable for the middle name, but not the run of the mill James that most Alexander’s will have. So we have picked these two out instead. Which do people prefer, Charles or George? Thanks Smile

How many syllables in your family name? I think Alexander can be a bit of a mouthful as a first name plus a middle but has a lovely rhythm as a middle name. I think if I was going for Alexander as a given name I would skip having a middle name at all.

I think Alexander George sounds beautiful!!

@viques two syllables (Jackson). I’d still use a middle name as our two daughters Elizabeth and Victoria both have one tbh.

Elizabeth and Victoria both have one Fair enough! I was middle name deprived so understand the potential sibling rivalry Grin I invented one for myself and introduced myself with it to anyone who looked as though they might be remotely interested. though very often they weren't.

You children have beautiful names, I hope they are looking forward to meeting Alexander.

Honestly, I would say that Charles and George are exactly as run of the mill as James.

How about:
Alexander Mark
Alexander Paul
Alexander Joel
Alexander Guy
Alexander John
Alexander Luke

I'd go for Alexander George.

You said on the Elizabeth Alice thread that you already have an Alexander Charles Hmm

Sunshines123 · 06/08/2020 19:39

I know I thought this too! Very confusing? Other thread says you have an Alexander Charles already!

garlictwist · 07/08/2020 04:11

I loathe the name George. Sorry.

Seriously no one cares about middle names so it just does not matter. If a middle name is shouted in the woods and no one hears it does it even exist, etc. Call him Alexander Graham Absorption, I dare you to.
