Sibling for James

Looking for a similar classic name but nothing royal or too posh sounding!

Currently thinking maxwell or Matthew for a boy, and Anna, zoe or Rosa for a girl...

Any other suggestions?

I think Matthew and Anna are gorgeous and go really well with James. I do like Zoe, but if I was being super picky, I would say it goes less well with James. I am not massively into the name Rosa and I don't know why.

Then you can say Sid James time for tea

Peter or Laurence (Laurie) would work well for a boy but I like your options too

Love Anna for a girl and think Anna and James sound amazing together

If not how about
Edith or Margaret (Maggie) or Lucy or Eliza

But I'd stick with Anna

My DS is James, his sister is called Jennifer

We also liked William, Edward, Daniel, David and Nathaniel for a boy and Genevieve, Constance, Emmeline, Madeleine or Miranda for a girl

Maxwell sounds more like a surname, and there was a famous James Maxwell here (Scotland) so it would be a no from me

I have a James and Anna. I think it sounds really well together. If I had had another boy it would have been James and Jude.

James is one of those names which pairs well with lots of names.

Biblical ones like Thomas, Matthew, Luke, Joseph, Nathaniel, Noah and Samuel etc. Also Rachel, Rebecca, Sarah, Leah, Elizabeth and Mary etc.

Classic non-biblical like William, Henry, George, Christopher, Edward, Theodore, Nicholas, Patrick, Alistair etc. Charlotte, Emily, Alice, Sophie, Rose, Katharine and Jessica.

I think you can also pair it with more modern names like Arlo and Lyra.

James and Anna go well together and so do James and Matthew. Rosa is lovely, and goes nicely with James as do the other rose names - Rosalie, Rosalind etc.
