Positive middle name!

I love the idea of giving my little girl a positive middle name...I think it's quite fitting after this year!

I'm thinking along the lines of Hope, Faith etc.

Would be great to hear suggestions of lovely positive names! 💗

Joy? Grace?

I think SJ Strum did a YouTube video recently on positive/hopeful names for pandemic babies 🤔 might be some more obscure ideas on there x

Rainy88 · 04/08/2020 11:07

Oohhh I'll have to give that a watch, I love her videos!

I like Joy

Rainy88 · 04/08/2020 11:18

I just can't get away from thinking of old ladies with the name Joy! I know old lady names are in but I don't think Joy has the same cool vibe other names do...

Felicity? Means happiness - and such a pretty name. Depends if it works with your chosen first name...

Ricekrispie22 · 04/08/2020 11:51

Liberty
Beatrix means miracle
Claire/Clara means bright
Lucy means light
Valentina means strong and healthy
Aurora means dawn

Vitalia

DD’s middle name is Hope, but after the Valley in Derbyshire. I do love the positive associations too though.

Flappingflamingo · 04/08/2020 12:36

Niamh means brightness
Cerys means love

ILoveStickers · 04/08/2020 12:39

Beatrix doesn't mean miracle, it means "travellers", from Latin Viatrix, but the spelling influenced by Beata "blessed". Lovely name, though.

Cecelia - heavenly
Matilda - strong in battle
Una - lamb (Irish), but also unity (Latin)
Iris - rainbow

ILoveStickers · 04/08/2020 12:40

Valeria - strong
Zoe - life
Chloe - new green shoot/growth

From the number of times I’ve seen Joy mentioned recently I think there’s going to be a resurgence and it won’t be seen as an ‘old persons’ name. That resurgence has to begin somewhere.

Elliedh · 04/08/2020 12:59

How about Serena/Serenity?

Missmonkeypenny · 04/08/2020 13:01

My 5 year olds middle name is Joy after my grandma 🙂

ElsieBeard · 04/08/2020 13:04

My 11 year old's middle name is Joy, after her Nan.

Yika · 04/08/2020 13:22

Yes Joy is definitely making a comeback.

Zoe
Vita
Vida
Blythe
Honor
Constance
Loveday

starsinyourpies · 04/08/2020 13:23

I was going to say Felicity too.

Rainy88 · 04/08/2020 13:52

I feel like Joy completely makes sense if it's after a grandma but not if it's for no reason...

Victoria
Dawn
Amy
Eve/a

Hope or Joy would be perfect. DD2's middle name is Hope as we were told we couldn't have any more children. She's 11 now and has a number of friends with Grace as their middle name.

Other suggestions:
Blessing
Bliss
Comfort
Favour
Felicity
Hero
Promise
Wonder

I've taught children with most of the above as first names.
