I think its a lovely sounding name. Have come across Lyndon before, but quite like it spelled the same way as the tree.

blosstree · 31/07/2020 14:13

I'm not too keen, but it's a nice enough name. I wouldn't think it was odd if I heard it.

FlorenceFlounce · 31/07/2020 14:13

Taught a Lyndon and know a second one too 👍 It’s a move sounding name 😊

mylittleavalon · 31/07/2020 14:26

Love it only downside is nickname could be Lin which is more known as a girls name- if you are bothered by that

oopsiw · 31/07/2020 14:34

I was a little concerned about it being so close to Linda. Maybe Lyndon is a better spelling

Isn't there a US president called Linden Johnson?

It's alright. A bit like Lincoln (another president obviously)!

Spelt Lyndon, but there was. He was absolutely obsessed with his penis (and that is all I know about him).
SomeWateryTart · 31/07/2020 16:29

Oooooh that's a very unfortunate association!

I know a Lincoln, a Jefferson and a Franklin. One in Scotland, the others in England. All primary age or younger.

Another US history name I love us Wyatt. Think it's really cool.

SomeWateryTart · 31/07/2020 16:31

Hang on...is that why Americans refer to willies as Johnsons 🤯?

Always think it's funny they have president fart and we have PM cock in each others slang.

Sorry op, for lowering tone!

Todaywewilldobetter · 31/07/2020 16:33

Thee was a Linden in Holby years ago! He was cute but troubled if I remember rightly.

It's a tree. Just as good as Rowan but better than Oak as names go!

JustMeAndMyTins · 31/07/2020 16:48

🎵 Sexy Cinderella... 🎵

With a ‘y’ though. Great name.

ShyTown · 31/07/2020 16:55

Cock obsessed president aside, I do know of a baby girl Linden (family are American) and I think it sounds feminine because of the similarity to Lynn or Linda.

howfarwevecome · 31/07/2020 16:57

I like Linden or Lyndon for spelling it. Or Lincoln.

MikeUniformMike · 31/07/2020 18:09

How about Bush?

SomeWateryTart · 31/07/2020 18:19

@MikeUniformMike

How about Bush?
Grin I can't say it has escaped my attention that president lady garden was there before president fart and pm dick...

I mean, it's always the Republicans and Tories isn't it? You'd never catch a Democrat with such a silly surname GrinWink.

daisypond · 31/07/2020 18:55

I like it. It’s a tree. No different to Rowan, or other tree names.

FinallyRelief · 31/07/2020 18:56

I thought of the baby gates then realised they are Lindam

XFPW · 31/07/2020 19:04

I know a baby Linden. He’s American but NOT named after LBJ.

He will go by Lenny as a nickname. (This isn’t as weird as it sounds - in their accent Lenny is closer to Linny than LEnny.)

I like it.

You and me both although I didn’t realise it was Lindam until you said.

OxenoftheSun · 31/07/2020 19:32

I quite like it for the tree association. Definitely Linden rather than Lyndon, though.

oopsiw · 31/07/2020 19:33

SomeWateryTone no problem Grin

Lyndon is fine for a boy.

I see Linden as being quite feminine.

TeaForTara · 01/08/2020 03:11

I think Linden would suit a girl better than a boy but Lyndon is fine for a boy.
