Me and DH are expecting a DD and these are some names are on our list
-Autumn
-Elliott
-Nora
Any thoughts or suggestions?
Also any ideas on how to tell older step children they are going to have another sibling? Me and DH are a little scared of what their reactions will be!😬

Not keen on any of them. Autumn is probably the best.

I like Ellis for a girl

My daughters friend is Elliott - she gets called Lottie, or Elle

I know a female Elliott. Nicknames include Ellle, Ellie or Lottie.

I don't like Nora or Autumn

Elliott is a boys name. I don’t understand the trend of giving girls boys names, it just feels like the parents wanted a boy and/or were desperate to be different

Autumn is lovely. Elliott is a boys name and im tired of girls being given boys names. There so many girls names to choose from. If you want to call her Ellie call her Ellie. Also looks like you really wanted a boy so gave her a boys name.

Giving a season as a name feels a bit chavvy, Summer for example.

Nora is old last, just not a pretty band at all.

I'd go for Elliott out of three, but I instantly thought of it being a boys name (as I know two boys called that)

Calling a girl Elliott would mean a lifetime of teasing or bullying. It's awful. Nora is a great name. Easy to spell and no bad connotations. I also like Dora. Autumn and seasonal names are just twee and your DD won't thank you for that one.

I love Nora but prefer the Norah spelling.

People will constantly assume Elliott is a boy which could be pretty annoying both for you and your dd.

When I see/hear “Nora” I think “Gnaw-er”.

I like Norah. Dislike Elliott for a girl, agree with pp, she will think you wanted a boy and it's not cute, she won't always be 5. Not keen on Autumn but it's better than Elliott.

I wouldn't lumber a girl with a boys name and Elliot is a boys name.
I think Nora is awful.
Autumn is ok but only if she is born in Autumn.

I always think Norah is quite a popular name in Ireland. I love it but I don't hear it much over here.

Elliott - not really liking that. What about Eleanor or Elinor? Or Elisse?

Autumn is pretty but there are a lot of Autumns- where we are anyway, n the north-east.

Had you considered Evelyn? Isobel? Martha? Miriam? Vivienne?

Autumn is lovely! Really not keen on Elliot for a girl. Nora is ok but seems to be lots of them at the moment. I hope telling your step kids went well!
If you really like El or Ellie there are loads of other names starting in El you could consider

Autumn is nice, the others are hideous.
