Sylvie

SweatyAndyFromWoking · 21/07/2020 10:16

Marnie

Whatsyourflava · 21/07/2020 10:18

Really lovely names but love Marnie the most 😍

rottiemum88 · 21/07/2020 10:23

Audrey for me. It was on my list if DS had been a DD! Smile I also like Sylvie, but Marnie not at all.

sweetnosugar · 21/07/2020 10:29

Marnie is gorgeous! ❤️

MikeUniformMike · 21/07/2020 10:30

Marnie.
Sylvia and Audrey are horrible.

I'm not that keen on Marnie because of the Hitchcock film.

LarkDescending · 21/07/2020 11:05

Sylvie

Destroyedpeople · 21/07/2020 11:18

Marnie

worstwitch18 · 21/07/2020 11:24

In order:

  1. Audrey

  2. Sylvie

  3. Marnie

Try saying them in your regional dialect. It helped me rule out quite a lot of names.

zigaziga · 21/07/2020 11:28

I like Audrey and then Marnie.

Sylvie is a name I fee like I should like, because it does seem beautiful, but I just don’t like it

CeibaTree · 21/07/2020 11:30

I would go for Sylvia and use Sylvie as a nickname - Sylvie is one of those names that is very cute on a little girl, but sounds quite childish on a grown woman.

DramaAlpaca · 21/07/2020 11:34

All lovely names, with a vintage feel that isn't quite in the 'granny chic' territory.

I think I like Marnie best.

Daphne is another one in the same style.

PlantPotting · 21/07/2020 11:41

Aubrey (with a b) is becoming increasingly popular for girls and boys so Audrey is likely to get misheard. It seems crazy as a few years ago you'd never think that but I've come across a couple of Aubreys recently. No Audreys. So I think people in future years will assume Aubrey not Audrey.

Marnie is my favourite from your list. It's so elegant with a lot of history yet very underused. Never met one but have my eye on this name for a future DD.

macdhui · 21/07/2020 11:45

All beautiful names. Adore Audrey, v elegant
Sylvie/a also divine and underused
Good luck with everything. Marnie lovely too!

Twizbe · 21/07/2020 11:50

I'd wait now until baby is here. She might look like one name more than the others

userabcname · 21/07/2020 11:58

Sylvie

PlantPotting · 21/07/2020 12:04

Just checked the latest data and yes much more Aubreys (with a B) in total than Audrey. Just thought I'd let you know incase it helps.
I have a daughter with a name that's very similar to another name (which is more commonly used than hers). Her name continually gets misheard and confused and it does annoy me sometimes

Onestepup · 21/07/2020 12:16

I'd go for Audrey, although I like Sylvia and Marina with Sylvie/Marnie as nicknames.

Rudyruby · 21/07/2020 12:21

I hadn't even clocked that Aubrey was getting more popular.......I really don't like it and puts me off Audrey now!

Will probably be between Sylvie and Marnie now.

Thanks

Although I still love Audrey......

I don’t know why as I haven’t any negative associations, but I really dislike the name Marnie. I can’t quite put my finger on why, it just doesn’t sound like a full name to me. In some accents it does sound similar to Mardy to me.

PlantPotting · 21/07/2020 12:26

AuBrey has been getting more popular every year if you look at the statistics and I know of two but it's still has a very long way to go before it's , say top 100. On current trajectory it'll be a good few years yet before Aubrey gets top 100-style popular so I doubt it'd be a massive problem for a good few years yet (if ever)

PlantPotting · 21/07/2020 12:28

But yeah like I say I picked a name that's very similar to another (more popular) name and do regret it as it's annoying to correct people and end up spelling out the name

SEE123 · 21/07/2020 12:30

Audrey ♥️

kittenpeak · 21/07/2020 12:36

Audrey is my fave by far.

I still consider Sylvie to be an "old lady name" (which I know are coming back but not sure Sylvie is quite there yet!

Marnie is a disgusting name. Don't do it to her
