Hello again, thoughts on Elizabeth Alice?

Hello again, I recently put a thread up asking what people thought of Elizabeth Grace, and as many people correctly pointed out, Grace is quite overused for a middle name. So how do people feel about Elizabeth Alice instead? We already have a DS called Alexander Charles for context. Thanks Smile

Lovely. Even nicer than Elizabeth Grace and just as classic.

Longdistance · 19/07/2020 20:48

Ha! I have an Alice Elizabeth.

daisypond · 19/07/2020 20:50

It’s nice and both are nice names. But I do think there’s a repetition of sounds with Eliz/Alice. It sounds very samey. Personally, I’d go for a different middle name, if Alice is not a name that’s personal to you.

TooBusyBeingYoursToFall · 19/07/2020 20:53

I find Alice just as run-of-the-mill as Grace actually. I prefer Grace though, and think it goes better with Elizabeth.

daisypond · 19/07/2020 21:03

Have you thought about classic short names like Claire, Fleur, Jane, Hope?
Or slightly longer:
Celia
Frances
Diana
Honor
Flora

TheHuntingOfTheSarky · 19/07/2020 21:08

I love that combination. I have an Alice Lilian ❤️

Fifthtimelucky · 19/07/2020 22:02

I love the name Elizabeth and prefer Elizabeth Alice to Elizabeth Grace.

Tillygetsit · 19/07/2020 22:55

Lovely. I really dislike Grace. Reminds me of greasy.

lottiegarbanzo · 19/07/2020 22:58

Lovely.

LuckyLinky · 19/07/2020 22:59

Both are lovely. I prefer Elizabeth Grace.

LuckyLinky · 19/07/2020 22:59

Both are lovely. I prefer Elizabeth Grace.

OrianaBanana · 19/07/2020 23:00

That’s my name. So I say go for it!

Whatsyourflava · 19/07/2020 23:00

Absolutely perfect name!! I love it!

timetest · 19/07/2020 23:02

Lovely.

OhTheRoses · 19/07/2020 23:02

I think Alice Elizabeth rolls off the tongue more easily. Elizabeth Ann works; or Elizabeth Joan.

2tired2bewitty · 19/07/2020 23:05

Does it matter if a middle name is popular? We used to joke at work that the three of us sitting together covered the most popular middle names of our generation - Anne, Louise and Jane, don’t think it caused any of us any grief.

123Dancewithme · 20/07/2020 00:42

Lovely. Much nicer than Elizabeth Grace.

Joseph1986 · 20/07/2020 12:59

@daisypond I like Claire and Jane. Also Frances but my older brother is a Frank/Francis so I wouldn’t want to use it. Elizabeth Laura was another one I come up with.

@OhTheRoses I can’t have an Alex and an Alice Grin - that would get so confusing; they sound very similar.

@2tired2bewitty not really, would just be nice to have something slightly more uncommon, but still conventional.

As long as your surname doesnt start with T, otherwise her initials would be E-A-T!!!

I find both Grace and Alice as classic, but boring IMO. I prefer Elizabeth Laura, or the other suggestions of Fleur, Hope etc.

Merrz · 20/07/2020 13:05

Love Elizabeth Alice sounds perfect

Allgirlskidsanddogs · 20/07/2020 13:06

Agreed that you can’t have Alice with Alex! I have an Alice Elizabeth so that is my fav, but as you can’t reversed is my preference!

NataliaOsipova · 20/07/2020 13:07

I was just going to ask what letter your surname begins with....

If it’s G -definitely Alice
If it’s T or R - definitely Grace...

Grin

As an Alice Elizabeth myself, I can highly recommend both names, whatever the order. Smile
