Laura or Anna?

This is quite a tough decision for me and DW right now for DD1 - her two big bros are George and David. Which do people prefer on here? Thanks

Anna. One of my all time favourite names. Don’t think it’s over popular. I’ve never had one in my class. I know two but they are both in their 30’s.

I love both. Popularity wise, I know lots of tiny Annas but no little Laura's, if that makes any difference??? And congrats.

Hmmm. Would you consider Lara/ Lyra?

Or Annabel/ Annalise? Much nicer.

@Blues1985 I know you're not that bothered about popularity but incase of any interest, anna's numbers have been falling each and every year in the charts for the past 20 years, it's about to leave the top 100 and by the time the 2020 statistics are released it will almost certainly be outside the top 100. It's so underused these days. It's an amazing name! Love it's beautiful symmetry and simplicity but also strength

Anna has also references that in my opinion don't exist for Laura: Anna Karenine for instance.

I find it romantic whereas I find Laura boring (sorry) - and this is coming from myself wearing a variant of Laura, always been bored by my name!

Definitely Anna. Laura is very dated to women my age and as a result she will have a 'mum' name and everyone hearing her name will assume she's 30 years older.
It's just something to consider.
Anna is beautiful classic and timeless.
