Samuel or Joseph?

This is a tough choice for DS1 right now that me and DW don’t know how to choose. We are both fine with the Sam/Sammy/Joe/Joey nicknames, but some input from mumsnetters would be handy here. Cheers Smile

Samuel, but I might be biased Smile

cptartapp · 13/07/2020 19:22

Joseph.

MissHoney85 · 13/07/2020 19:23

I love Joseph, I'd use it myself but my OH's ex wife is called Jo so it's off the table 😂

I'd also say that as a teacher I have taught many Sams / Samuels but only one Joseph.

shartsi · 13/07/2020 19:23

Joseph

Hercwasonaroll · 13/07/2020 19:24

Joseph but I'm biased!

It's less prevalent than Sam.

123Dancewithme · 13/07/2020 19:26

Joseph is #27 in the most recent stats, Samuel is #33, so Joseph is more popular.

SpeedofaSloth · 13/07/2020 19:27

Samuel.

dementedma · 13/07/2020 19:29

I have a Joseph, and he is the only one in his year so that would be my choice

Peachbubble · 13/07/2020 19:34

Joseph

Tatum1234 · 13/07/2020 19:37

Samuel. Three Joseph’s in dc2 class and two in dc3 class, it’s very popular in this area.

Tillygetsit · 13/07/2020 23:02

Biased so Joseph for me too. Sorry nephew but son trumps you!

BikeRunSki · 13/07/2020 23:05

Samuel, but I might be biased Smile too

I have a Samuel. We know many more Joseph’s than other Samuels.

Shmithecat2 · 13/07/2020 23:06

Both lovely, but Samuel just wins it for me.

Tanfastic · 13/07/2020 23:08

I love both, ds is called one of these names and the other was my second choice if I'd had another boy (unfortunately didn't).

Flymetothestars · 13/07/2020 23:11

Both lovely names
I pick Joseph but adore Samuel too

Miljea · 13/07/2020 23:15

They are both good, solid names! I'm saying them aloud, and I slightly prefer Joseph as the 'myuel' bit of Samuel doesn't roll so easily.

SunsetOverEasterIsland · 13/07/2020 23:21

Joseph for me too, but again probably biased Smile. Joseph was my Dad's name and is my DS's middle name.

ellenpartridge · 13/07/2020 23:26

I love both but think Samuel pips it as I prefer Sam to Joe.

Mumshappy · 13/07/2020 23:28

Samuel.

DramaAlpaca · 14/07/2020 00:16

Joseph
