I’ve had moments where I’ve felt sure on a name and then it just doesn’t feel right. At the moment I’m stuck between Grace and Aurelia.
Her middle name will be Evelyn.

I would probably call baby Grace Gracie and I like the nickname Rae for Aurelia.

Thoughts please?

Both lovely names.

Grace is much more popular than Aurelia - there's 3 in DS' class alone- if that bothers you?

bridgetreilly · 12/07/2020 23:36

Gracie Evelyn.

Although actually I prefer Evelyn Grace.

Onestepup · 13/07/2020 00:43

Aurelia is unusual and pretty.

babynamelover · 13/07/2020 01:33

I've meet both but all the Graces I know have been so sweet and kind.
Grace Aurelia would be pretty.

pilates · 13/07/2020 07:05

Grace/Gracie Evelyn lovely
Not keen on Aurelia

daisypond · 13/07/2020 07:22

Grace. I think Aurelia is a bit naff.

userabcname · 13/07/2020 07:25

I prefer Aurelia - such a pretty name! Grace is very popular which doesn't matter if you love the name but does put some people off.

thatmustbenigelwiththebrie · 13/07/2020 07:36

I really dislike Aurelia - sorry

Jilljams · 13/07/2020 07:39

I think Aurelia can be hard for some people to pronounce so make sure the wrong pronunciations wouldn’t annoy you. Grace is quite popular but I don’t actually know many with it as a first name, seems more popular as a middle name. Between the two I prefer Grace.

Whatsyourflava · 13/07/2020 07:41

The numbers of babies called Grace has been falling pretty dramatically year on year since 2006 which is when it peaked
So like @PMTRex said, there's 3 Graces in a
Class at school but they're older and this is less likely to happen now the numbers name have fallen so much. By the time the 2020 official statistics are released, I'd predict the name will have fallen out the top 20 on its current trajectory

I love both Grace and Aurelia by the way and think you'd be making a good choice with either

sweetnosugar · 13/07/2020 08:47

Already been mentioned but I like Evelyn Grace!
Otherwise if you must have Evelyn as the middle name I do like Aurelia.

20viona · 13/07/2020 08:49

Aurelia. Grace and Evelyn are totally dull IMO.

DoTheMaccaroni · 13/07/2020 09:37

Aurelia by a billion miles!

DoTheMaccaroni · 13/07/2020 09:38

There are soooo many Evelyn Grace/Grace Evelyn’s out there!

emmathedilemma · 13/07/2020 11:52

I prefer Evelyn Grace too. Both pretty common but i really don't like Aurelia or Rae (sorry, it reminds me of the bit round your nipples!).

Zhampagne · 13/07/2020 12:02

Just FYI Evelyn Grace is the name of a school in Brixton - possibly one to avoid if you live in south London.

MikeUniformMike · 13/07/2020 13:14

I don't like Aurelia or Evelyn.
Eve is nice, as is Grace.

Roadrunner550 · 13/07/2020 13:20

I think Aurelia is a bit silly, sorry! Grace is nice but I don’t like Gracie. Grace Evelyn works well.

Ughmaybenot · 13/07/2020 13:22

I love Aurelia Grace personally, but Aurelia Evelyn is pretty too. I love the nn Rae

LotusClover · 13/07/2020 13:43

I think Aurelia will date badly as it was pretty much unheard of up until a few years ago, and it seems like people are only using it now as an alternative to the very popular Amelia. Grace is a bit plain but I love Evelyn.

Flappingflamingo · 13/07/2020 16:10

Love Grace (eldest daughters middle name) and Evelyn (my nans name)
Really don't like Aurelia

perfumeistooexpensive · 13/07/2020 16:51

Aurelia is far too princessy. It's ok for a small child, but a teen would find it embarrassing. Can't go wrong with Grace.

DoTheMaccaroni · 13/07/2020 17:14

@perfumeistooexpensive

It's ok for a small child, but a teen would find it embarrassing. how very presumptuous of you! I beg to differ. I’ve met a few Aurelia’s of different ages and none have found it embarrassing. Nor has the name come across as “princessy”.

DoTheMaccaroni · 13/07/2020 17:15

And you say you can’t go wrong with Grace but I roll my eyes every time I hear it!

Prettylittlelady · 13/07/2020 18:43

Thank you for all the responses - I’m still torn my main concern was that Grace was a little ‘boring’ but I do think it’s very pretty.
Aurelia to me is beautiful sounded but I know there would be numerous pronunciation issues.
For those have suggested alternative middles - it will be 100% Evelyn - my beautiful grandmothers name, the most special person to me. The reason why it’s not the first name is that I’m really not keen on Evie at all.
