Baby sister for Teddy

I'm currently 21 weeks pregnant with a girl and although there's no imminent need to decide we're struggling on a name! My little boy is called Teddy (just Teddy not Edward or Theodore).

We want something that is relatively uncommon but not totally out there. Also not too modern or too traditional!!

Current favourite is Nina, what are people's thoughts? Others on the list are Phoebe, Betsy, Orla, Matilda, Daisy... any other ideas?!

Thanks!!

Thanks for the other suggestions! I really like Margot but a friend has just called her baby that so it's off the list!

@mintyt not sure if you were joking or not, I think Teddy and Dolly is a bit twee and toy cupboardy!!

Nina is lovely! My initial thought was Eliza.

More seriously Nina is the best choice.

Not Betsy on any account

ILoveStickers · 07/07/2020 07:07

Nina is a great choice.

Scarby9 · 07/07/2020 07:08

@FondantPud I know little siblings called Sid and Betsy. Really not sure at first, but I have grown to love the name Betsy ( still really not sure about Sid...).

Rebelwithallthecause · 07/07/2020 07:09

I love Nina

It was on my list but DH preferred a different but similar name

WildCherryBlossom · 07/07/2020 07:40

Nina is gorgeous!

From your list I also love Matilda and Phoebe. Matilda could be shortened to Tilly though. Teddy and Tilly sound characters in a children's book. I think I would probably avoid names ending in a "y" sound.

How about
Anna
Louisa
Georgia
Tabitha

Like Nina.
Phoebe is my fav from your list.

TinySleepThief · 07/07/2020 09:01

I would choose Nina from your list.

Avoid Matilda as she will probably at some point become Tilly.

Nina is a lovely name :)

I can imagine Lydia as Teddy's sister.

Teddy and Matilda

whichteaareyou · 07/07/2020 11:11

Just seen that's on your list! It was the first name to come into my head when I read the title

laura0390 · 07/07/2020 11:52

Thanks so much everyone! Really like some of the suggestions but think your positive responses to Nina have made me pretty set on that!

Now to think of middle names... Teddy has 2 so DP wants the same for this one! Surname begins with H and one syllable...

I love Teddy and Nina - sounds like a children's book.

123Dancewithme · 07/07/2020 15:01

Nina is perfect - go with that!
