Imogen with a Nn of Immy/ Immo or Mimi?

No clues on middle names! I was bullied into my sons name - so I’m making the decision and sticking to it!

I love it and the shortening to Immy is gorgeous too

mintich · 05/07/2020 15:06

Love Imogen, it was on my list for DD. I like all the nicknames but prefer Immy

Loveinatimeofcovid · 05/07/2020 15:09

I love it. Always preferred nn mim.

MikeUniformMike · 05/07/2020 15:09

Imogen is ok but I don't like Immy. Immi is awful and Mimi is to try-hard.

MikeUniformMike · 05/07/2020 15:09

too not to

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 05/07/2020 15:12

I don’t like it personally, but Its a nice name. I can see the appeal.

Not sure if you want help with middle names.

Imogen Rose
Imogen Beth
Imogen Rosabelle
Imogen Sofia
Imogen Victoria
Imogen Pearl
Imogen Lily
Imogen Rebecca.
Imogen Lucy
Imogen Flora.
Imogen Rhianna

I’m not keen on it, but it’s fine. Immy is horrid. Immo is slightly better. Mimi is a bit too cutesy. Jenny / Genny might be better.

usernameannonymous · 05/07/2020 15:26

I personally love the nickname immi, knew a girl with it and it sounded really nice

cptartapp · 05/07/2020 15:33

Imogen is nice. Don't like contrived nn.

Lavenderblues · 05/07/2020 15:49

I don't like Imogen at all, sorry. It sounds unfeminine and harsh. Immy is ok / I know a couple of Imrans called Immy. Again, not very feminine imo.

BeMorePacific · 05/07/2020 16:39

Love it!! xx

Orphlids · 05/07/2020 17:08

Imogen isn’t to my taste, but it’s a perfectly acceptable name. I’d assume Imogen was educated, well read, intelligent, hard working, diligent, perhaps a little serious. I really like the nickname Mimi - I’d wonder if you were opera fans - although I’m not sure it seems like a natural diminutive of Imogen. But that’s not really important. If you like it, go for it.

TimeWastingButFun · 05/07/2020 17:17

Imogen is a lovely name. Love Immy and Mimi also.

Mum2beSept2020 · 05/07/2020 17:51

I love the name Imogen and the nickname Immy. It would be a serious contender for us but it doesn’t go with our chosen middle name (family) sadly.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 05/07/2020 17:53

Like it, love Imi

daisypond · 05/07/2020 18:07

Amazing how differently people see Imogen. That’s not my impression of it at all nowadays.

DramaAlpaca · 05/07/2020 18:08

I love Imogen & Immy.

LadyCatStark · 05/07/2020 18:22

That’s exactly how all the Imogens I know are 😂 personally, I think it’s a lovely name.

123Dancewithme · 05/07/2020 20:01

I’m not keen. Immy sounds very twee.

Whatsyourflava · 05/07/2020 20:48

One of my very favourite names. I adore it so much!! It's perfect and so many good nickname options too. Go for it! ❤️ Wish I could use but don't have a girl.
Sorry to hear you were bullied into your other child's name though, what is it?

Ohdearieme1987 · 05/07/2020 20:56

So generally pretty positive comments! I wasn’t necessarily bullied into my other child’s name but it wasn’t what I wanted! So I was bullied out of it... I suppose

LOVE Imogen. Immo is ghastly and sounds like the nickname that your lacrosse team would give you, but then the Imogen that I know goes by Mogs.

Immo is slang for an illegal immigrant or a knock off

Prettylittlelady · 06/07/2020 21:38

Not a name that I would choose but it’s pretty and I really like Immy.
