Hi,

For anyone living in the Home Counties or teaching there, what are the most popular names?

Thanks all!

I thought I'd be suggesting not Berkshire or he'll be nicknamed Berk.
I believe that Balonz is somewhat overused especially in Surrey.

MikeUniformMike - you beat me to it!

I was going to say: Kent is OK for a boy, but probably don't call your DD Essex or West Sussex!

You can check the Official ONS top 100 by region @Stickytiggy
That will be a far more reliable way of finding out what's popular

I live in the Home Counties and there seem to be lots of:

William, Oliver, Harry, Teddy (short for Edward and Theodore), Dylan, Alexander, James, Thomas, Elliot/Elliott, Oscar, Freddie/Frederick.

Eva/Evie/Ava (absolutely loads of these), Isla, Willow, Poppy, Phoebe lots of two syllable names beginning with L such as Lyra/Luna/Lucy/Lily.

Strangely though I have hardly come across these names in the Home Counties, which are statistically popular across the UK:

  • Jack, Noah
  • Mia, Sophia, Ella, Grace
