Emilia for me!

Pemba · 01/07/2020 04:58

Zoe - lovely name, beautiful sound and meaning.

mrs87 · 01/07/2020 07:02

I quite like both and think Emilia Zoe sounds lovely as a first name and middle name. Sorry, that's probably not very helpful!

PaulinePetrovaPosey · 01/07/2020 07:16

Zoe!!!

Love it. And Emilia will blend in with all the Amelias/ Evas

ZoyaTheDestroyer · 01/07/2020 07:19

Zoë.

Emilia will get lost in the sea of Amelias.

daisypond · 01/07/2020 07:34

Zoe by far. It’s fabulous.
Emilia blurs into every other frilly Amelia, Amelie, Emmeline, etc.

mondler · 01/07/2020 08:08

I love Zoe. Its easy to spell, everyone knows it but there's not many around.

Poppydaisys · 01/07/2020 08:21

Zoë

Emilia has become dull from overuse.

Whatsyourflava · 01/07/2020 08:25

Love both names so much!

Rainbowqueeen · 01/07/2020 08:26

Zoe

Thistlegirl4 · 01/07/2020 08:35

Emilia

Onestepup · 01/07/2020 08:50

Emilia

cptartapp · 01/07/2020 08:53

Millions of Emilias, Ellie's, Evie's, Ava's, Millie's, Maya's, Eva's, Ella's.
So Zoe.

Seashell80 · 01/07/2020 08:55

Emilia, but I'm biased as I have an Emilia Rose 🌹

villamariavintrapp · 01/07/2020 09:16

Zoe

len1234 · 01/07/2020 09:20

Definitely Emilia Smile

LoveSunshine01 · 01/07/2020 10:12

I love Emilia as a name, but it's true that those names are very common now, also they'll probably get a lot of people calling them Amelia.

Zoe is beautiful, and relatively unusual now! I'd go with that!

breakfastclubb · 01/07/2020 10:39

Zoe is a brilliant name, one of my faves.

Poppydaisys · 01/07/2020 12:06

Zoë spelled like this.

Zoe looks like Joe or Toe Smile

pinkblossomdreams · 01/07/2020 13:35

Thank you! It's seems Zoe is the forerunner. lots of Emilia and Millies about.

lovesunshine 'they'll probably get a lot of people calling them Amelia'.

I find this very confusing about the name Emilia. I want to say 'emmill-ee-yuh' but a lot of people seem to pronounce it identically to Amelia ('ameel-ee-yuh'). Even the actress Emilia Fox seems to use the same pronunciation as Amelia. And if the pronunciation is identical then I sort of think, what is the point of Emilia then? I like Emmeline more. How do people with an Emilia say it?

But overall I would definitely go for Zoe, less fussy and more unusual at the moment. It's gorgeous. (Yes I know it should have those accents, but I don't know how to produce them on my keyboard!)

DramaAlpaca · 01/07/2020 15:50

Zoe.

Emilia is lovely, really pretty, but Zoe is a strong, fabulous name and there aren't many around at the moment.

bananamonkey · 01/07/2020 18:08

I love both names! I like the ö for Zöe

I have an Emilia, I pronounce it Em-ee-Lee-yuh like (Em like Emma or Emily) which to me sounds very different to Amelia but I do find myself saying “Emilia with and E” because when you say it quickly people don’t realise the difference and Amelia is common. It can be annoying, I don’t regret it though as I still love the name.

daisypond · 01/07/2020 18:13

I like the ö for Zöe

That’s not right. It would be Zoë. But I think it’s redundant these days. We don’t write Chloë either any more. Either way, lovely strong name.
