Have a while to decide- but what are thoughts on Olivia Margaux ?

I really dislike the way Margaux looks but it sounds fine.

theproblemwitheyes · 30/06/2020 11:58

Margaux is fine as long as you're French, otherwise I'd go for the more standard Margot spelling.

HappyDinosaur · 30/06/2020 12:00

Olivia is quite popular, but the combination is still lovely.

abigailwendover · 30/06/2020 12:00

Love the name Olive but agree with the others re spelling of Margaux - prefer Margot

abigailwendover · 30/06/2020 12:01

Oh sorry I misread Olivia as Olive! Olivia is ok but very very overused IMO - Olive Margot is a beautiful name!

AdelaideK · 30/06/2020 12:03

Olivia is very very common. This may not bother you which is fine. It's a nice name.

I prefer Margot spelled like this and I'd go for Margot Olivia.

Limpid · 30/06/2020 12:03

Margaux is horrible -- Olivia Margot is fine.

Babyroobs · 30/06/2020 12:04

Olivia is lovely but I don't like Margaux.

Itsjustabitofbanter · 30/06/2020 12:10

There’s 3 Olivias in my daughters class. And there’s a new girl starting next year, named Olivia Grin

CuppaZa · 30/06/2020 12:10

Not keen on either

LotusClover · 30/06/2020 12:39

I really dislike Margot and Margaux but Olivia is lovely.

Whatsyourflava · 30/06/2020 13:18

Love Olivia

MikeUniformMike · 30/06/2020 13:32

Olivia is so overused that it is a bit meh. Margaux is an ugly spelling of a not particularly nice name.

Sunnydayshereatlast · 30/06/2020 13:35

Hoping your surname doesn't start with G...

Spied · 30/06/2020 13:35

Really dislike Margaux however it's spelt.
Any other mn would be an improvement imo.

Olivia is nice.

mamablondie2 · 30/06/2020 15:34

Olivia is so overused, but if that doesn’t bother you then yeah it’s nice enough. I feel like it’s the kind of name that isn’t really going to get a strong reaction either way though tbh.

HalfBloodPrincess · 30/06/2020 16:03

Its lovely OP.

AdaColeman · 30/06/2020 16:19

Olivia is pretty, but already very popular.

I don't like Margaux, and I'm not keen on Margot. What about Marguerite which has a similar meaning?

FizzyGreenWater · 30/06/2020 16:52

Both perfectly nice names but Olivia is so overused, sorry - I wouldn't choose it.

I love Margot and Margaux too, know a couple spelled like this.

Anna Margaux or Anna Marguerite would be a good example of trying to get away from Olivia to a 'similar' kind of name which isn't so madly common.

daisypond · 30/06/2020 17:57

I like both Olivia and Margot - that spelling. They go well together.

DramaAlpaca · 30/06/2020 19:35

I like Olivia. I don't like Margot myself, but it does flow nicely with Olivia. I'd use the Margot spelling as Margaux is a wine.

bridgetreilly · 30/06/2020 21:33

Olivia Margot or Olivia Marguerite would be my preference.

pilates · 30/06/2020 22:21

Dislike Margaux, prefer Margot and Olivia is very nice

pandar · 30/06/2020 22:31

I love it. Does Margeux have significance for you? Even if it doesn't i still love it, just curious as it's different. X xx

Elouera · 30/06/2020 22:35

Sorry, but I always read Margot as Maggot!!! Also really dislike the spelling Margeux, as I find it a really ugly. Not sure why, but just dont like the name.

Olivia is better, but also extremely popular.
