Narrowed list down to

Emma
Alexandra
Clara
Emilie
Like zara but reminds me of the shop too much

I want a simple, fairly well known, classic name that will age well.
Can you put in order from fav to least fav X

I don't think you can go wrong really! All nice. If I had to choose, I think I'd put Alexandra top.

Alexandra
Emma
Emilie
Clara

Also like Emilia, Claire, Chiara and Alexia.

MamaDane · 29/06/2020 11:02

From most to least:
Emilie
Clara
Alexandra
Emma

I've never been keen on Emma, just find it dull. The rest are lovely imo

Topseyt · 29/06/2020 11:03

I like them all, with Alexandra just slightly ahead. Alex or Lexie make nice shortenings too if you want that sort of option.

MaggieFS · 29/06/2020 11:06

I like Emma. I also like Alexandra but it will likely get shortened. I like Emily, Emilie just means she'll be forever correcting the spelling. Not keen on Clara.

Shesaysso · 29/06/2020 11:06

Alexandra
Clara
Emilie
Emma

Marlena1 · 29/06/2020 11:26

I like them all too, great list!

Alexandra
Zara
Clara
Emilie
Emma

LotusClover · 29/06/2020 11:42

They're all lovely, timeless names. My favourite is Clara by a mile. I love Emily but spelt the traditional way, as Emilie will get misspelt all the time. Emma is nice too. I'm not keen on feminine forms of masculine names, so if I had to pick a least favourite it would be Alexandra. But it's still a good strong name that gives plenty of nickname options.

BabyLlamaZen · 29/06/2020 11:57

Clara/Emilie
Alexandra
Zara
Emma

unstableunicorn · 29/06/2020 12:02

Alexandra (lots of nn potential)
Clara
Emma
Emilie (people will mispell)

They're all lovely names though, can't go wrong! One might jump out at you as suiting best when the baby's born

GinWithRosie · 29/06/2020 12:05

Emma
Alexandra

Not keen on the other two...Clara has a harsh sound and as you said, you will be forever be correcting the spelling of Emilie (why not just choose Emily if you like the name? 🤷‍♀️)

ineedaholidayy · 29/06/2020 12:06

Clara (love)
Alexandra (love)
Emma
Emily

Potter4321 · 29/06/2020 12:08

Yes I think your right about Emilie, should probably stick with traditional spelling to save a lifetime of correcting people. X

Nice choices!

Alexandra
Clara
Zara
Emilie
Emma

Love the top three not so keen on the bottom two. I think you'd get past the shop association with Zara.

Emma and Emilie/Emily are too common for my taste. Personally prefer Emilie to Emily cos of the french... did you consider Amelie? I know it's less classic, but still well known and beautiful.

MikeUniformMike · 29/06/2020 19:48

Emma - lovely, classic
Alexandra - nice, classic, loses points because it is long. Alex nice but very common for boys. Sasha & Sandy are nice. Lexi awful.
Clara - Dislike it. Is it a Thomas the Tank Engine name?
Emilie - Emily is much better and is classic.
Zara - I like it, and the shop might not be around when she's older.

123Dancewithme · 29/06/2020 22:31

Alexandra is my favourite.

Bellabelles · 29/06/2020 22:34

Clara - love this one
Alexandra
Zara
Emilie
Emma - really dislike this one

Otterseatpuffinsdontthey · 29/06/2020 22:36

Alexandra is also my favourite.

Leah00 · 29/06/2020 22:54

Emily or Emilia
Alexandra
Clara
Zara
Emma

chubbyhotchoc · 30/06/2020 09:40

Emma- no very boring
Alexandra - don't like. Alex is a boy's name in my mind.
Clara- ok
Emilie - see Emma

Potter4321 · 30/06/2020 10:03

@chubbyhotchoc haha I love your honesty. X

Cam2020 · 30/06/2020 10:09

All lovely names!

Alexandra
Clare
Emilie
Emma
I also like Zara and agree with PP who said the shop might not be around forever.

Whatsyourflava · 30/06/2020 10:09

Love all your names apart from Alexandra- echo what others have said about it being too long, too frilly for me and I hate Lexie. Your other names are gorgeous classics though. Favourites Emma and Clara.

chubbyhotchoc · 30/06/2020 10:24

@Potter4321 it's all taste though. One person's boring is another one's classic and pretty. I think you just have to love it

Potter4321 · 30/06/2020 10:44

@chubbyhotchoc your absolutely right. Such a difficult decision. X
