What should I do?

Not to do with baby names but to do with my name. I have always hated my name and it’s nicknames and don’t have a middle name to go by, this hate has just grown over time, I don’t really have anything against the name I just hate it for me. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I can do?

Well if your name is Gertrude fir example you could call yourself Gee?

Change it by deed poll?
I know many adults that have completely changed their name. Eventually everyone got used to their new name!

That's what's guys in London used to do when they didn't like their names. I knew a G and a T and a C.....

I'd choose a name you really like and change it by deed poll. Refuse to answer to your old name and people will have to get used to it 🙂

gotothecooler I had a really bad relationship with my dad as a child and have only recently started to reconnect and I’m worried changing names would completely ruin it, I’ve spoken to my brother and he thinks the same. I want him to stay in my life so my children can grow up knowing their grandad.

Well if you don't want to change it there isn't anything you can do.

Why not change it, but just use your old name when you're talking to your dad?

You could change it to something you like, have your old name as your middle name and have your dad call you your old name. If you hate your name I reckon change it, in this country it's a fairly straightforward process.
