Edie, Edith or Penny and middle names?

Thinking Edie or Penny for our baby but also love Edith. Wanted the middle name as Elizabeth but Edith Elizabeth doesn't really work... maybe Edith Betsy (as short for Elizabeth). Opinions and suggestions please... Thanks. Xxxx

Penny Elizabeth is nicer.

I think Edith Elizabeth does work. I like alliteration though.

I love Edith Elizabeth. I’m not too keen on Penny and Betsy, they sound a bit twee. How about Edith Alice or Edith Rebecca.

MummyofMunchkins123 · 28/06/2020 12:28

Wanted Elizabeth as it is a family name. X Alice beautiful. Not sure on Rebecca but thank-you anyway. Xxxxx

Edith Penelope

I think Edith Elizabeth sounds really lovely and you could go with Edie as a shortening. I much prefer Edith to Penny.

FrugiFan · 28/06/2020 12:30

I like Penny but personally I prefer names to have a formal version if they're short and nicknamey - so I would go for Penelope.

Edith Elizabeth sounds fine to me and then you can use Edie as a nickname.

Edith Elizabeth definitely works. It’s a really nice strong name. I dislike Edie and Penny as full names but both are fine as short forms.

Edith Elizabeth works perfectly.

Edith Elizabeth is very chic.

Edith Elizabeth is gorgeous ♥️

Edith Elizabeth is lovely.

I like Penny and Edie but they sound like nicknames to me. I know they can be stand alone names. To be honest I would probably use Edith and then shorten to Edie sometimes as a nickname.

I don’t love the Edith Elizabeth combination due to repetition of end “th” sound. I do think Edie Elizabeth is super cute though!!!
