Arlen?

Just heard this boys name on TV and OH told me he really liked it! I hadn't heard it before and can't decide what I think about it. I looked on namesdarkgreener and there were 48 Arlen's born in 2018.

Arlen, what do you think?

I think it's fine but I did assume it was a girls name, probably because I hadn't hear it before. I like Arlo too. Choose what you love.

Thank you ♥️

Love this name it’s so original and sounds nice. If it goes well with last name go for it!

FizzyGreenWater · 30/06/2020 23:09

Sorry, no. It just sounds made up. Arlo would be much better!

Starthere · 30/06/2020 23:12

Love it. Nearly chose it for DS. There was an Arlo in my NCT group born days before so felt like it would be too similar. We went with a more traditional name with a very similar sound.

Love Arlen. It has a very regal sound

JamMakingWannaBe · 30/06/2020 23:27

Not a fan.

It reminds me of Ardal O'Hanlon from Father Ted.

I also think it could be misread as the girl's name Arlene.

whatausername · 30/06/2020 23:37

Just sounds like "our Len" in a Northern Irish accent.

ParsleyPot · 30/06/2020 23:44

Awful

Wheresthebiffer2 · 30/06/2020 23:48

It looks like the female name Arlene, with the e missed off.
It does sort of sound like Ireland too, which is odd.
I'm not keen on it. Sorry.

ChrissyPlummer · 01/07/2020 05:51

Where I’m from it would sound like you meant ‘Harlen’ or had missed the e from Arlene.

Ellmau · 01/07/2020 10:16

Never heard it as a name.

I prefer Harlan.

redwoodmazza · 01/07/2020 10:29

I don't like ANY of the above mentioned names!!! Smile
