Sibling name for Saffron

Hi all! Currently expecting DD2 and struggling to agree on a name. DD1 is called Saffron which we love because it's fairly unusual (but not completely unheard of) and has several nickname options. We've got a few maybes for DD2 but haven't found anything yet which feels quite right... Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks 😊

My DD1 is called Saffron. DD2 is called Willow.

abigailwendover · 28/06/2020 08:55

Some lovely suggestions - thanks everyone - will discuss with DH ☺️

I wondered whether it would sound too matchy to go for another colour name, like Amber or Ruby - although I do like both of them.

@OneRingToRuleThemAll hello to another Saffron mum! Willow goes really nicely.

@abigailwendover for some reason I’m drawn to J names; Jasmine, Jessamine, Jocelyn, Jessa, Johanna, Jannah. Also Fern(e), Poppy, Pippa, Orla, Orpah, Tess(a). I feel like another name with two consonants together would sit nicely alongside.

I think of Saffron as being a herb/spice not a colour.

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 28/06/2020 09:35

Another shout out for Willow. Lovely name and really sits nicely alongside Saffron with out being too matchy

I agree with pps, Saffron makes me think of spices not the colour so Amber or Ruby would be fine.

For some reason Laurel popped into my head with Saffron. A soft natural name to my ears.

Or
Cordelia (heart) nn Cordie
Adelaide (nobel/kind) nn Addie
Phoebe (shining one/radiant) nn Fee

A bit different but suit in different ways.

whichteaareyou · 28/06/2020 20:48

The first name that came into my head was Jemima
