Middle name for Elsie

So I think we've pretty much decided our little girl will be called Elsie but can't decide on a middle name. Our current combinations are...
Elsie Arabella
Elsie Wren
Elsie Rae
Elsie Grey

Honest thoughts please and any other suggestions? Although lovely names, I find Rose and Mae/May as a middle name are just too overused so it has put me off them.

Thank you 🦋

It all depends on your surname really! .. I’m not asking for you to reveal what it is, just keep it in mind when choosing. Smile
I quite like Elsie Wren and Elsie Rae!
How about Elsie Jayne/Jane?

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 27/06/2020 14:58

Elsie Jane is lovely

Elsie Claire
Elsie Jean
Elsie Beatrice

rooarsome · 27/06/2020 15:03

I think a single syllable name works best with Elsie- Jane, Belle, Joy etc

BeKindOrBeQuiet · 27/06/2020 15:04

I was going to suggest May before reading your post. So I'd go with Rae

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 27/06/2020 15:06

Love Wren
Rae is also lovely.

May was my first thought but agree it's very popular.
Elsie Joy sounds nice imo.

Arabella out of those choices, although I do think it’s a bit frilly. Annabel would be better. I think it’s worth giving a full name for at least the middle name in case she won’t want Elsie when she’s older. Avoid a one-syllable name - they just become filler names as middle names, nice though many are as first names. Rae and Wren are particularly awful, though.

YouDirtyMare · 27/06/2020 15:15

Depends on your surname though

Tigger001 · 27/06/2020 15:19

I immediately though

Elsie Mae (may)

But out of your list, Elsie Rae

Whatsyourflava · 27/06/2020 15:24

Love Elsie - great choice

Wren works well

Or what about Margaret, Clementine or Pearl

notso · 27/06/2020 15:44

I think Rae and Grey are becoming the new May/Mae/Mai.

I think PP's Elsie Margaret is lovely.

Elsie Wren. Sounds lovely! Different without being too different.

I taught an Elsie Rae a few years ago. It suited her down to the ground and I always thought it sounded lovely.

whiteroseredrose · 27/06/2020 23:03

Elsie May?

Onestepup · 27/06/2020 23:55

Elsie Arabella is lovely.

Ulrikaka · 27/06/2020 23:59

My ggm was Elsie May and she was born in the 1880s, so if you like it, go for it, it is not a new combination.
