What’s the most unusual name you’ve heard for a girl? I have 2 boys with unusual names and really struggling for a name for our little girl.

I’m not sure if these are unusual but apart from the one little girl in the same social circle/school as my children have these names..
Winnie
Romilly - she goes by Milly.
Daphne
Anais
Allegra
Genevieve

I do like these too, I’d say more popular however.

Mabel
Marnie

We are done but I adore Ramona 😍

LotusClover · 27/06/2020 11:46

Gypsy, Mackaney and Amaris are the most unusual ones I've heard personally. If you're looking for some nice names outside the top 500, how about:

Tara
Rosanna
Christa
Arielle
Tamsin
Briana
Talia
Della

Standrewsschool · 27/06/2020 12:17

Do you want unusual as in less popular (eg. lettice) or unusual as in hippy, mid-spelt, wacky, (eg. Dove-Krystal)?

Rowena
Alexandrina
Roxanne
Lourdes
Minerva
Coral
Lucinda
Zinnia
Trinity
Astrid

Table six

Look towards the bottom of the list. There are over 7,000 names on the list.

I think the link is for girls names but there is a table for boys

Least popular names are at the bottom

Araminta
Rosamund
Cordelia

Theyweretheworstoftimes · 27/06/2020 12:29

If any given name was only given to two children or less then the name won't appear for privacy reasons in the table above.

bananaskinsnomnom · 27/06/2020 12:35

I know an Araminta, she’s known as Minty - pulls it off very well!

So less popular but not completely off the wall? Some of these are on my list:

Atlanta
Leilani
Marnie
Enya
Luna
Arabella
Skyler
Fern
Hebe
Aurelia
Aine

Sydney
