We can't agree on any boys names at allll! We have a little girl called Alana and we are having a boy in July.

We like Alexander but I just know so many Alex's that I'm put off the name and my other half likes Logan but I'm not keen... Please help if you can suggest any names that go with Alana let me know! :) Thank-you!

Alexander is gorgeous. The only problem is you could get the NNs Al or Alley from both of them. There for I don't think Alexander would be suitable for you.
Alana and Logan has quite a nice ring to it, though.
Further suggestions.
Alana and
Isaac
Jacob
Henry
Leo
Benjamin
Thomas
William.

Alana and Alexander is a bit of a tongue twister but you could have Xander as a shortening instead of Alex

Spied · 25/06/2020 16:25

First thought was Jude (although I realise it's very different name to Alexander)
I think Noah and Noel also sound good with Alana.

Whatsyourflava · 25/06/2020 16:54

Alana is a great name and I really love Alexander and funnily enough don't know any under 5yo so must be regional or whatever.

Here are some of my favourite boy names that are further down the charts than Alexander.

I think Barnaby Nathan Peter Laurence or Tristan would be a good choice:

Marley
Christopher nn Kit
Wilf(red)
Barnaby
Peter
Nathan/Nathaniel - Nate
Sidney Or just Sid
Laurence nn Laurie
Vincent nn Vinnie
Curtis
Eli
Ellis
Miles / Milo
Seth
Cole

Eric
Casper
Rudy/Rudi
Dexter
Blake
Angus
Dominic
Idris
Percy
Chester
Caleb
Austin
Griff(In)
Tristan
Otto

😂 OP I'm also due in July and was going to use Alexander but think their are just too many around. I'm also struggling for a name for my baby boy. Why are boys names so hard?

No, not Alana and Morris, but a baby boy in July could be a Julius or Jules?

No baby/toddlers called Alexander where I live! Xander is lovely.

Alexander is far too similar to Alana IMO, plus it is very popular, whereas Alana is recognisable but fairly uncommon.

I really like the suggestion of Barnaby.

Some others, Alana and:

Sylvester
Douglas
Timothy
Adrian
Solomon
Everett

birdy124 · 27/06/2020 06:57

For Alexander you could use the nickname Sasha (Russian nickname) which is super cute!

babysleeper · 27/06/2020 16:28

These are some really great names! Thank-you all! We will have to have a think and go through them all... I'm sure we will eventually agree on one! Lol
Good luck @12345ct with your baby boy! I agree baby boy names are so hard! We like so many girls names but feel more pressure with a little boy lol.
