I’m only 20 weeks pregnant, we have picked a name and DH asked if he cud tell his mum which I was fine with, he’s now gone on to tell half the people we know Im fuming. I didn’t want everyone to know till the baby was born anyone else had this happen to them.

This would annoy me. I made the mistake of telling some people my first child's name before birth and they started calling my bump by the name i asked them to stop and said I may change my mind so please don't xx

Did u end up changing the name? I didn’t expect him to tell anyone other than his mum feel like nothings gonna be special now announcing the birth cos he’s spoilt it and told people the name already.

It will still be special, the baby is the special bit.

I’d have been fuming too though.

Tbh while I can see why you’re annoyed, you’re completely losing track of what’s important. Having your baby will be the special bit, nothing will change that. Plus I think you’re overestimating how much people actually care, and I don’t mean that in a horrible way I promise, but most people will forget anyway, if they haven’t already.
Besides which I don’t think you can ever ‘just tell one person/these people’ etc. Something is either a secret or it’s not and you risk someone being a bigmouth. As it is, it was your DP being the bigmouth but still.
