We still have three months to go before our baby boy is born. I was convinced it was a girl, so the boys list is starting from scratch and it's so hard!!!

DP and I have different tastes. I want Lysander, he wants something more common.

Please tell me what you think and make any suggestions!

Percy (I love, family name, but it's very marmite)
Freddie (short for something - not keen on Frederick but want a proper name for BC)
Sebastian (DP likes, I'm a bit meh and don't like Seb)
Caspar
Louis

Thanks

I don’t mind any of your names but definitely not Percy.

scrivette · 20/06/2020 20:29

I like Sebastian and Casper and Lysander

ShyTown · 20/06/2020 20:33

I really like:
Freddie - could be short for Alfred if you’re not keen on Frederick?
Caspar
Louis
I think Percy is awful and Sebastian is ok but I don’t like Seb.

IggyAce · 20/06/2020 20:34

I like Sebastian and Caspar.
How about:
Nathaniel
Lucian
Laurence

BlusteryLake · 20/06/2020 20:37

Percy sounds a bit cartoonish/children's book character. If you like Caspar, how about also Jasper, Seth or Christian?

Thesearmsofmine · 20/06/2020 20:39

I like Sebastian and Freddie(I would go for Alfred) . Boys names are hard, I have 3 boys and it was so difficult!

LuluJakey1 · 20/06/2020 20:41

Louis

CuppaZa · 20/06/2020 20:41

Percy - Percy Pig, so no.
Freddie - ok but overly used
Sebastian - not keen
Caspar - nope
Louis - best out of the names you have but a little ‘meh’

LuluJakey1 · 20/06/2020 20:45

What about:
Isaac
Guy
Hugo/Hugh
Lennie (Lennard)
Alistair
Lucien
Benedict
Dominic

Willow4987 · 20/06/2020 20:47

I don’t love any of them

How about Rupert?

LuluJakey1 · 20/06/2020 20:47

Geordie (pet form of George)
Gregory
Gabriel

MerryInthechelseahotel · 20/06/2020 20:55

Louis is by far the best imho.

Grufallosfriends · 20/06/2020 20:56

I only like Caspar. How about Quentin?

cushioncovers · 20/06/2020 21:44

Not keen on any of them to be honest. Sorry

borntohula · 20/06/2020 21:49

Despite 'Louis' reminding me of someone I don't like, it's my favourite out of those and Freddie is a cute name.

OhTheRoses · 20/06/2020 21:50

Caspar and Louis are middle names for my boys.

Arthur
Magnus
Gawain
Edward
William
Tristan
Conrad
Benedict
Tobin

We used Caspar for a Christmas baby - Melchior and Balthazar were the other wise men.

DramaAlpaca · 20/06/2020 21:51

Louis is nice.

BikeRunSki · 20/06/2020 21:52

I like them all, although Caspar least. Freddie could be Alfred or Wilfred.

istheresomethingishouldknow · 20/06/2020 21:59

Sebastian is my favourite of the lot.

Freddie - cute for a boy, not convinced for a teen or grown up, would become 'Fred' I'd hope

Percy (Jackson) (Pig) - tricky, definitely marmite

Caspar (ghost)

Louis - quite common, a bit meh

user1493494961 · 20/06/2020 22:05

Percy is a penis. Really like Sebastian, Caspar and Louis are OK.

Grufallosfriends · 20/06/2020 22:10

The problem with Sebastian is that's it's quite long and the nicknames are ugly imo - Seb, Sebbie, Basty ?!

Louis is ok but often pronounced Lou-is.

Whatsyourflava · 21/06/2020 09:21

Percy - LOVE - one of my favourite names
Freddie - LOVE
Sebastian - LOVE
Caspar - LOVE
Louis - LOVE

Whatsyourflava · 21/06/2020 09:21

I know a little chap called Percy- he's the coolest little guy and really suits his name

Whatsyourflava · 21/06/2020 09:28

Yes how about Wilfred? Barnaby? Tristan? Caleb? Nathaniel nn Nate? Christopher nn Kit?
Sidney nn Sid
Laurence nn Laurie
Curtis
Rudy/Rudi

A name like Peter night meet both your criteria @roarfeckingroar as it's really rare these days (Will be only one in class and school probably), but obviously a familiar name

Whatsyourflava · 21/06/2020 09:29

Otto
Otis
Austin
