Stellan? Masculine?

We're currently really liking the name Stellan. While it has "Stella" within the name, it still 'reads' masculine to me.

But I wasn't sure if it was just me!
Would you see this as a male name or "Stella with an n"?

If it is useful as context, I'm Scandi and DH is British.

Thank you everyone! Stellan has now become the front runner for both of us! You've really eased my mind that it would work well in a non scandi environment.

My main worry was that my scandi bias, being familiar with the name, would cloud my opinion and reality it wouldn't work well in the UK/internationally. But that is gone now!

Now we just need to find a good middle name 😂

I wish I was even remotely Scandinavian so I could use Stellan.

Absolutely gorgeous names and honestly the link to Stellan Skarsgård is quite a good one! Fantastic actor and he's got to be a really good person as even Paul Bettany named one of his DS Stellan specifically after him. I can't imagine someone better to share a name with.

Oh this is nice. It's a new name to me but really, really nice.

I love it but DH vetoed it so I couldn't use it.

It's an amazing boys' name. I really like it and actually don't think of it as similar to Stella.
