Yay or nay?

Asking for my friend, not me :)

Yes, quite nice. Not sure I know of any adults with that name but for a child it is lovely.

LuluJakey1 · 13/06/2020 11:10

It's very lovely. It means 'laughter'.

Spied · 13/06/2020 11:11

Love it

goodbanana · 13/06/2020 11:11

I love it, friend adores it, but friend thinks it's too popular. I don't think popularity matters if she loves it.

I know one who gets teased with I suck. That puts me off unfortunately.

goodbanana · 13/06/2020 11:20

@Lavenderblueses I've seen that on mn a couple of times before but never actually come across it.

Would be our next boy name. I love it!

daisypond · 13/06/2020 11:36

I’m not keen.

Cyclewidow46 · 13/06/2020 11:47

Love it!

DramaAlpaca · 13/06/2020 15:53

I don't like it at all.

Jj2431 · 13/06/2020 19:15

Love it. Was our choice if we were having a boy but it's a girl

Nellydean21 · 13/06/2020 19:19

Love it. A song name. Biblical wasnt it the name that God choose to be sacrificed but didn't.

NannyR · 13/06/2020 19:20

Great name, not that commonly used and it has a great meaning "he will laugh".

Kittymitty38 · 13/06/2020 20:32

It’s popular. We know 3! Ages 7 and down. Still beautiful ❤️

Orphlids · 13/06/2020 20:49

It is marginally less dull then the more commonly used Jacob. Actually, it’s a lot better than Jacob, but it’s got the same sort of feel.

oiboi · 13/06/2020 20:50

It's my sons name. I love how it sounds in my mouth.
His nickname is ike which I also love.

I didn't want him to have such a popular name but I love it but we couldn't have any J names which I loved more

Flappingflamingo · 13/06/2020 22:21

My sons middle name, his dad chose it. I hated it at first but over the last 15yrs I've grown to love it

ZoyaTheDestroyer · 14/06/2020 07:28

Lovely name. Quite popular. People have a terrible time spelling it and your friend will see ‘Issac’ a lot.

ProperVexed · 14/06/2020 07:34

I like it...as long as your surname fits it ( Hunt would not be good)

Chocolatecake12 · 14/06/2020 08:46

Love it Wink
But then I’m biased! My ds13 gets a variety of spellings but other than that no problems.

Whatsyourflava · 14/06/2020 08:55

Love love love it
Don't know any Isaacs
Think a friend of a friend may have a son with this name but that's all

sweetnosugar · 14/06/2020 09:08

A lady in the local mother and baby group has a 7 month year old called Issac, unfortunately I also know a 9 year old with it who does get teased often. The lady I know has debated changing her sons name for this reason. So be mindful, it’s not the first time I’ve heard of Issac’s getting teased with the ‘I suck’ comment. Children can be mean.

daisypond · 14/06/2020 09:17

A lady in the local mother and baby group has a 7 month year old called Issac,
Is it spelled like that?

GuyFawkesDay · 14/06/2020 09:20

The bad spelling is annoying.

I have an Isaac. He's not had any problems based on people saying I suck.

I've taught a few too. It's definitely become more popular recently. Lots more tiny Isaacs than large ones!

TeetotalKoala · 14/06/2020 09:21

I love it. I wanted to name DS1 Isaac, but j couldn't get DH to agree.
