What do you think of the name Willow? We are really struggling to agree on any names at the moment.

So far for girls I like:

Willow
Millie
Iris
Maeve
Noa

For Boys I like:

Rory
Riley
Erik
Ethan
Elliott

My husband isn't keen on any but didn't frown too much at Willow.

So hard to pick a name to last a lifetime!

Willow is already a hugely popular name.

I like Maeve from your list. What about Maude?
I like Rory & Erik from your boys list.

SnowdropFox · 09/06/2020 22:15

I like Willow, I know one toddler with thr name. I like the other girls names on your list apart from Noa. It just looks like an unfinished Noah.

I like Rory and Eliott from your boys list. Riley is my least favourite on your list. More of a pet name to me personally.

pinklillie · 09/06/2020 22:26

I thought Willow might be popular.

I've tried Maude too but my husband doesn't like it either.

We have loads of time to decide and we aren't going to find out whether it's a boy or girl which will be a nice surprise.

I will have to get him to write a list too I think.

I think I had some in my head and didn't realise he'd be so against them. Back to the drawing board!

Sounds awful but are you both skiinny? There was a willow at school who was rather large and the name seemed quite cruel

AnnaSW1 · 09/06/2020 22:31

Of your list it's my favourite. It's popular for a reason. If you love it then use it.

Prettylittlelady · 13/06/2020 07:19

I’ve never met a Willow - people say it’s popular but I’d like to know what constitutes being classed as ‘popular’

StylishMummy · 13/06/2020 07:26

Maude is awful! Sounds like 'morbid' to me.

Willow is lovely and will grow with her

Pinkblueberry · 13/06/2020 07:28

Willow is lovely!

pinkpinecone · 13/06/2020 11:07

Willow is ok, but I think it sounds a bit pretentious.

From your list I like Maeve and Iris the most.

Blursula · 13/06/2020 21:24

Maeve and Noa are both lovely. I think Willow is getting really popular

snowone · 13/06/2020 21:29

I absolutely loved Noa when I was pregnant and I just didn't have the nerve to go for it. It is absolutely beautiful for a little girl - but I just knew we would forever be explaining that she wasn't a boy and that it was spelt differently. She was going to be called Noa Lily - 😊

Si1ver · 13/06/2020 21:34

There's a lot of animals called Willow. My dog is but I picked it off my baby name list when I was struggling to conceive. I now know a lot of other dogs called Willow.

Other names on my girl list were

Iona
Orla
Alba
Robin

fantasmasgoria1 · 13/06/2020 21:39

Willow and noa are both nice! I have heard girls being called willow but I have never come across one in person!

SuperSange · 13/06/2020 21:50

I know two Willows. They're both lovely! I think it's a very pretty name.

sweetnosugar · 14/06/2020 12:44

Maeve is my favourite from your list!

Whatsyourflava · 14/06/2020 14:18

Willow is gorgeous

How about Marnie ?

Whatsyourflava · 14/06/2020 14:19

Love your boys names favourites are Erik Ethan and Elliott

Cindie943811A · 14/06/2020 23:09

What about Willa?

SillyCow6 · 14/06/2020 23:19

I love the name Willow, but I always wonder will they still be happy with the name as an adult, and names luke Willow, Poppy, Teddy etc I think have a childlike element to them.

I like Maeve though, what about Imogen or Isobel? Niamh? Sinead, Siobhan?

For boys how about Conor, Sean, Timothy, Toby
