Too similar?

My friend has asked me to post this asking for an opinion, she has a niece called Avery but adores the name Aven if their next child is a girl. Are these names too similar and if so does anyone have any suggestions for a alternative?

TIA

Yes way too similar. Aven is also basically Avon as well.

CyberNan · 31/05/2020 22:53

yeah they are both shit names.

I like cybernan… your friend probably wont agree seeing as she has such terrible taste in names.

Are these children going to be cousins or siblings?
Cousins...not too similar.
Siblings...way too similar.

Not too similar for cousins but like someone else said it’s really very close sound wise to Avon which massively takes the shine of the name. If someone told me their baby was ‘Aven’ I’d hear Avon and think they were an extremely eager rep.

As a niece it's probably a little similar, it's not as nice as the nieces names either. How about
Raven
Avaeh
Ava
Avril
Ayden
Ada
Anwen
Anya
Neva - anagram

Aclh13 thank you, I will let her know these suggestions, she also likes Anaveah if these are too similar which is similar to Avaeh.

I don’t think it’s too similar at all. We have cousins Eva & Ava and they’re both 10/11 now and no one has ever commented on their names.
Both nice names. xx

BuffaloCauliflower · 01/06/2020 08:36

@CaitlinEJ neither of those are names. Looks like she’s just chucked letters at a board.

How about Ava, Amélie, Alicia, Annabel, Anais (pronounced Ana-eess)

justanotherparent1810 · 01/06/2020 11:42

BuffaloCauliflower They are names, I know an Anavaeh and I’ve heard of an Aven, look them up. Aven is the English spelling of Aoibheann

IncrediblySadToo · 01/06/2020 11:58

Aven is the English spelling of Aoibheann

One reason to be grateful to be English today, when there are so few!🤣

@CaitlinEJ

they're too similar if she pronounces it Ayyy-ven, but I prefer Ahhh-ven and that would be 'ok'

CaitlinEJ · 01/06/2020 20:00

IncrediblySadToo It’s being pronounced a(lower case a sound - ven. I can’t decide if that’s how your saying ayy-ven because to me that’s Eye-Ven
