Do you know any Asher’s born in 2019 or 2020?

So our favourite name for the boy we’re having is Asher

Hubby was doing some googling and has got all bothered because a bunch of websites all said that Asher was the #1 name so far in 2020 (they all got their info from Nameberry)...

I don’t know any Asher’s! So I don’t really believe it!!

Do you know any born this year or last?

I only know one and he's mid 20's

I've never met an Asher of any age, but really like the name. I think Nameberry's stats are based on 'likes' for the name, rather than names of actual babies.

Dan TDM's son is called Asher, born earlier this year

I know of one born a few weeks ago.

I know a toddler Ashur (spelt that way after an elderly relative). I definitely feel like it’s suddenly on the radar and wouldn’t be surprised if it shoots up in popularity in coming years tbh.

I know of 3 born in the US but non in the UK

DH is Jewish and I’m not so there’s context to the choice. Hopefully it makes sense that we’re ok with it being popular in certain places with a Jewish population, in America and if the person you know who had an Asher is Jewish. It’s more we wanted to check that it didn’t go completely mainstream and super popular!
