Balthasar or Solomon

Would appreciate help on what to call my son

These are two of my favourite names of all time. Balthasar just edges it for me.

I really like Balthazar - it makes me think of Balthazar Getty (90’s actor - remember him?)

I prefer the Balthazar spelling.

Do either of them mean something special to you or are you just seeking an unusual name?

Balthazar makes me think of the three kings in the Christmas story. I don't hate it but it depends on your child's surname and your social circle. Solomon has more universal appeal, I feel.

Like them both, but prefer Balthasar. Cool and classic and memorable!

We had Balthazar on our dream list along with Thaddeus but in the end decided it was a bit too onerous for a wc kid in the Midlands. I think if we were a bit more upper class we'd have gone with it.
