I like Clover, Lila and Primrose.

Aintlifelikethat · 30/05/2020 06:29

From your list I like Connie, Penny and Lila. The others aren't to my taste but none of them are awful or too weird!

SpillTheTeaa · 30/05/2020 06:38

Hate Paloma.
Primrose, meh.
Love Pixie but always imagine a very petite girl.
Like Tallulah too.

userabcname · 30/05/2020 06:38

I like Tallulah, Effie, Isabel and Vivienne.

FourPlasticRings · 30/05/2020 06:42

Francine- not bad, not my favourite
Clover- like it, but the MN opinion on this has not been favourable historically. I think it either makes you think of the girl in the What Katy Did books or the vegetable spread/a cow.
Elvie- A new one on me. A bit like Elvis. It's OK but not to my tastes.
Lila- Nice enough
Neiko- Is it pronounced Niko? If so it'd make me think of Nico Rosberg and I'd presume you were really into F1, but it's OK. If Nay-ko, I don't really like it. Probably because of the nay sound.
Pixie- Geldoff. Cute on a girl, not so on a boardroom exec.
Penny- OK. Prefer Wendy if you're going for that feel of name.
Primrose- Like it a lot, DH rejected
Tallulah- Nah. Too frilly.
Pia- OKish but the pee as the first syllable puts me off.
Effie- Like it. I prefer the full name though.
Vivienne- Very nice.
Isabel- Lovely, if a bit overdone in recent years.
Bonnie/Connie- Bonnie is fine, I prefer Constance to Connie
Leni- Not heard this one. Could be OK.
Minnie- Mouse
Paloma- Faith. Sounds like a medical condition to me.

Phoebeboo · 30/05/2020 07:50

I like Clove, Lila, Primrose, Effie, Vivienne and Minnie. My favourites are Effie and Minnie and I really don’t like Neiko or Paloma.

sweetnosugar · 30/05/2020 09:36

Primrose - One of my favourite names!
Isabel - Classic and feminine.
Minnie - I grew up with a girl called Minnie, she’s the most nicest person you could meet. She has a professional career, her name really suits her. I just think it’s lovely!

I also like Winnie, similar to your list imo.

SippingOnStraightChlorine · 30/05/2020 09:41

I like Clover and Primrose

LittleRa · 30/05/2020 09:44

From your list, I like Lila, Penny, Bonnie or Connie. Depending on where you are, Minnie is colloquial slang for vagina/female private parts.

Epigram · 30/05/2020 09:44

My favourites are: Clover, Effie, Isabel, Connie

Least favourites: Neiko, Vivienne, Leni, Paloma

20viona · 30/05/2020 09:45

Effie and Pixie from
That list.

Ughmaybenot · 30/05/2020 09:52

Francine - nice classic name
Clover - is she a cow?
Elvie - this is awful. I don’t like the look of it or the clunky sound of it.
Lila - not to my taste but a nice name
Neiko - pronounced Nee-ko I actually rather like this. Nay-ko would be a hard no, naked, nay, not great links
Pixie - awful. Fine as a nickname, but it’s not a proper name really. Also what if she is tall and broad?
Penny - as a nn for Penelope I like this, very pretty
Primrose - love this
Tallulah - okay, but a bit frilly for my taste personally
Pia - not for me. Pee... nah.
Effie - short for something else this might be okay but it’s got a forced feel to it, it doesn’t flow naturally imo
Vivienne - love
Isabel - pretty name but v popular
Bonnie/Connie - love
Leni - Lennie? I don’t like this tbh, Reminds me of mice and men and that’s not a happy tale
Minnie - ugh no. It’s commonly used as slang for vagina
Paloma - okay

pinkpinecone · 30/05/2020 09:54

I really like Francine it sounds really classy and can be shortened to Fran.

Also like Effie, Lila and quite like Pia but they're very different in style. Isabel is lovey too but a bit overused.

OnABeachSomewhere · 30/05/2020 10:51

Francine - OK, prefer Frances and don't like Fran as nickname
Clover - Cloven hooves, margarine
Elvie - Too wizardy on its own, OK as nickname for Elvira
Lila - insubstantial
Neiko - OK
Pixie - only as a nickname. Beatrice/Tricia?
Penny - like
Primrose - like
Tallulah - quite like
Pia - Unfortunate nickname potential of Pee-er. Tia, Ria, Nia?
Effie - Reminds me of Effing and Eff Off
Vivienne - don't like
Isabel - like
Bonnie/Connie - Connie is quite nice. Bonnie is a labrador's name
Leni - quite like
Minnie - apparently in some parts of the country this has a rude meaning
Paloma - like

babynamelover · 30/05/2020 10:59

Clover, Tallulah, Vivienne and Paloma are the best 😊.
We considered Tallulah for #1 I also like it spelt Tallula I think it has a different meaning. Paloma and Vivienne are beautiful and unexpected.

LotusClover · 30/05/2020 11:18

Love: Clover, Lila, Isabel,
Like: Penny, Minnie, Vivienne, Connie
Indifferent to: Francine, Effie, Leni, Paloma
Dislike: Neiko, Pia

Sorry but Elvie, Pixie, Primrose, Tallulah and Bonnie are hideous in my opinion. Very pretentious and fussy.

IVflytrap · 30/05/2020 14:09

I think these are OK:

Primrose
Tallulah
Pia
Vivienne
Isabel
Bonnie/Connie
Leni
Paloma

Thoughts on some of the others:

Francine - Much prefer Frances
Clover - sounds like a name for a milk cow
Elvie - makes me think of eels
Lila - not bad, just a lot of young Lila/Lily/Lyla/Lilah/Lola/Leilas etc about these days
Effie - I did like it, then someone pointed out it sounded a bit like swearing, which has put me off
Minnie was a slang/childish name for vagina where I grew up, so I would avoid personally

Jashartsx · 30/05/2020 14:16

Francine - don’t like it. Reminds me of the character from Arthur
Clover- absolutely adore!
Elvie- like an elf? Noooo
Lila- no
Neiko- really really no
Pixie- elf/pixie/fairy theme? No
Penny- lovely but I think Penelope nn Penny is best
Primrose- no
Tallulah- no
Pia- I like it but I think this has potential for teasing. Like pee-er
Effie- awful
Vivienne - ok
Isabel- lovely
Bonnie/Connie- no
Leni- no
Minnie- cute
Paloma- no

mamablondie2 · 30/05/2020 14:58

Francine - it’s Ok
Clover- no
Elvie- makes me think of the breast pump
Lila - nice. Prefer Lyla spelling though!
Neiko - no
Pixie- not for a child, sorry.
Penny- No! I don’t get why this is so popular right now. Bland and boring
Primrose - LOVE! And I love Prim for short
Tallulah - Like! Tally could be a cute nn too!
Pia- no
Effie- like
Vivienne - LOVE!
Isabel - I like it but it’s becoming bland it’s so popular. Prefer Isobel spelling also
Bonnie/Connie- no
Leni
Minnie
Paloma

... no to the last 3.

Otterseatpuffinsdontthey · 30/05/2020 15:08

My absolute favourite is Vivienne. Think it's a classy, feminine name. Don't let anyone shorten it!Smile

newmum332 · 30/05/2020 15:18

Francine - it’s a nice name but nothing special
Clover - reminds me of the butter
Elvie - sounds made up and just a bit strange
Lila - quite like this but has become popular
Neiko - awful
Pixie - awful
Penny - It’s ok but has become so popular
Primrose - couldn’t imagine an adult Primrose
Tallulah - again might be cute for a child but doesn’t sound right for an adult
Pia - it’s ok
Effie - absolutely awful
Vivienne - my favourite on the list, by far the nicest!
Isabel - nice but not keen on this spelling
Bonnie/Connie - Connie is ok, Bonnie I don’t like
Leni - I like this but would use this as a nn maybe Ellen or Lenore on brith certificate?
Minnie - again an adult Minnie? She will have to apply for a job one day...
Paloma - it’s ok

Edenember · 30/05/2020 15:36

@ldnstb123 I like Penny, Primrose and Pia - I’ve always loved the name Pia but the pee-er teasing potential would put me off actually settling on it. Tallulah is lovely too and the meaning is gorgeous. It sounds like what it means if you get my drift. More out there choice but still familiar to all.

howlatthetrees · 30/05/2020 15:38

I like Lila, Penny, Primrose, Effie, Vivienne, Isabel, Bonnie/Connie and Minnie

17caterpillars1mouse · 31/05/2020 21:08

Francie - sounds stuffy to me
Clover - would you like to be an adult women called Clover?
Elvie - pretty, but will probably get mistaken for Evie

Lila - dislike
Neiko - sounds pretty but don't like the look

Pixie - silly name
Penny - pretty
Primrose - lovely
Tallulah - love it. I know a fabulous Tallulah in her early 30s
Pia - pretty and simple
Effie - nice
Vivienne - love it. Also like Valerie
Isabel - very popular. Prefer Isobel

Bonnie/Connie - I like Connie as a nn for Constance, dislike Bonnie on anybody older than 5

Leni - dislike
Minnie - mouse
Paloma - pretty, known but uncommon

Onekidnoclue · 31/05/2020 21:15

So my starting point when assessing names is whether they give a strong preconception of what the person might be like that they could struggle to live up to. So from your list I don’t like Pixie as it infers she’s small. What if she was tall? Curvy? Would seem a mis match. So anyway. Here are my thoughts....
Francine fine
Clover cow
Elvie pelvic floor tightening app
Lila fine
Neiko Never heard of it. Japanese?
Pixie tiny
Penny fine
Primrose fine
Tallulah fine though middle class snobs like the rest of my family would 100% say stripper name
Pia pee-er
Effie short for Josephine? Lovely
Vivienne lovely
Isabel lovely
Bonnie/Connie Lovely
Leni short for something? Melanie?
Minnie Fanny
Paloma fine
