Hello,
I'm not pregnant yet but TTC.
I love classy, timeless names, not too out there. Wondered if you could give me other ideas or let me know what you think of these names? Thanks

For a boy I love
Michael
Jonathan
Henry
Luke

For a girl I'm much more undecided. I love :
Lydia
Maria
Helena (to be pronounced Helen-a)
Eleanor
Victoria
Elizabeth
Louisa
Eve (although OH isn't keen)
I really like girls names ending in 'a' as you can see!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Love all you boy names except Michael which sounds a bit too dated compared to the others but that's just me

Girls are lovely too how about Martha or Greta or Nina

FluffyEggsontoast · 29/05/2020 14:09

Helena is ok but pronunciation issues would drive me bonkers so would never use

How about Eliza

Daybydaybyday87 · 29/05/2020 14:11

@fluffyeggsontoast
Thanks, how would you pronounce Eliza, is it like E-lye-za or E-lee-za?

Michael - I like that it's a classic and currently underused but I really don't like Mike or Mike and it seems like a name that would definitely get shortened. I prefer Micah

Jonathan - like it alot and think Johnny is cute and like Jon. I know a 4 year old Jonathan who is lovely

Henry - I like it, but it's very popular here. I considered it as a mn but had girls

Luke - I like it, but am hearing it more. I know 2 baby Luke's and there is also a Luke on cbeebies baby club so seems it might be getting more popular. I also like Lucas

Lydia - love it, would of used it but it's a family members name

Maria - not a fan. I prefer Marie

Helena (to be pronounced Helen-a) - lovely. Would probably use it as a mn if I had another daughter. Also like Helen

Eleanor - pretty but I dislike Ellie, though like Ella, Norah and Bell. I prefer Eleanore

Victoria - I like it. Tori is a cute nn, though dislike Vicky

Elizabeth - its OK. I prefer Elisabeth and love Elspeth and Elsbeth

Louis a - very pretty and underused

Eve (although OH isn't keen) not a fan. Have you considered Eva since you love names ending in an 'a'

I love Henry, what about:
Aurora
Leila
Georgia
Tia
Nina
Tara
Cara
Maia/Maya/Mya

BabyDust13 · 29/05/2020 21:36

My favs from your lists are probably Henry and Lydia. Good luck TTC sending baby dust

DramaAlpaca · 30/05/2020 00:23

I love your lists. You can't really go wrong with a good classic name.
