Our Baby Girls Name...

Well, my boys list got many rude comments that are hurtful but I thank those who were kind and helpful.
This is our girls list, it is a lot harder for us to narrow down because neither of us can agree on one we both like.

My list:
Ivorie, Emmie, Ezmae, Maezie, Darsie, Rozie and Mollie, he hates Mollie though even though it's my fav. :(

Hubby's list:
Leighyah, Amilliyah, Addelleigh, Maeleigh and Quinleigh

I will probably have to choose one of his picks. I wish he liked Maelie or Addellie but he don't.
Anyway if you have to choose which do you like the most? Xxo

Why can neither you or your ‘hubby’ spell. You’re naming a human, not a hamster. Your child will be prejudged on this name for the rest of their lives and the ruling will me the same as everyone else on this (and the other) thread - chavvy unintelligent parents trying hard to be unique (or... yoonique for you guys)

FeelingTheBurn · 27/05/2020 09:16

isn't Rozie slang for police?

Anyway, go big or go home. Why have Amilliyah when you can have Ameeleeah. Much better with more vowels.

kahronah · 27/05/2020 09:18

@Nixen Check your spelling out... you must be "chavvy unintelligent."

FeelingTheBurn · 27/05/2020 09:20

But I am a fan of the more traditional name, so I would probably go for something like:

Hell-n (I do like a classy hyphenated name!)
Jawgeenah
Ellanore
Joseefine
Cafeerin
VIIIe (my fave!)
DannyL
etc etc.

SockYarn · 27/05/2020 09:21

Totes amazeballs names hun. What about

Rehbickah
Ray-Chylle
Hell-Eynne
Soosynne
Ohlyvvi'arre
Feeohnah
VycktorryaH
Sarmannffah
Immiggenne?

FeelingTheBurn · 27/05/2020 09:22

Sorry VIIIe should be K-VIIIe.

Nixen · 27/05/2020 09:28

@kahronah I have a law degree and my toddler (with a normal name) running around me while I type... I’m pretty confident I’m neither chavvy nor unintelligent but thanks for playing

Magicbabywaves · 27/05/2020 09:31

Esme

pinkyredrose · 27/05/2020 09:32

Why don't you spell the names properly?

AllyBamma · 27/05/2020 09:34

Ahhh here’s the girls list. Thank you again 😂

Orphlids · 27/05/2020 09:40

I genuinely don’t know if this is a joke or not.

kahronah · 27/05/2020 09:41

@nixen
Have a great life with your ~law degree.~

Also not sure whether or not this is a troll. Hard to tell any more.

Spell the names properly. Don’t make her life more difficult than it needs to be.

pinkyredrose · 27/05/2020 09:45

I will probably have to choose one of his picks

Why, is he a bully?

kahronah · 27/05/2020 09:49

@pinkyredrose He has final word so if I pick one from his list he'll let me choose. Grin I got my way with the boys names with his choice of spelling so it's fair and I'm lucky I get to pick. Smile

OP posts:
pinkyredrose · 27/05/2020 09:50

He's a bully then.

Nixen · 27/05/2020 09:51

@kahronah Thanks I will. Good luck to your child, they’re going to need it.

SoupDragon · 27/05/2020 09:52

Do you really want your long awaited child to go through life having people sniggering at the spelling of their name? Because they will, trust me. Maybe not to their face (although yes, that will happen) but there will definitely be sniggering. Lots and lots of sniggering.

Then there is the matter of always having to spell it out and dealing with the constant misspellings (because no one is going to guess right. Ever.)

You are naming a person and that person is going to have to live with the name you gave them until they are able to change it themselves.

I grew up with a "daft" name and it is shit. Think very carefully.

kahronah · 27/05/2020 09:53

Well, I have decided to decide between Addelleigh or Maeleigh.

Addelleigh Mae nickname Addie
or
Maeleigh Jayne nickname Mae

OP posts:
rosegoldwatcher · 27/05/2020 09:55

Leighyah, Amilliyah, Addelleigh, Maeleigh and Quinleigh

Beautiful sounding names made to look fecking ugly in the mis-spelling. Your husband is a twat. Buy a goldfish and let him name that.

WhatsHappeningCaroleBaskin · 27/05/2020 09:56

I can barely read those names. I certainly can't glance at them and know how they're being pronounced.

Just spell them normally and save your child a lifetime of people getting their name wrong and having to spell it for people.

ScarletFever · 27/05/2020 09:56

@SanFrancisco49er

It's a joke - look at OP's own name. I think this and the boy name thread are hoping to be funny Hmm
failing.....
CakeHoleinRoof · 27/05/2020 09:57

Odd name (& these aren't 'unusual, they're downright odd!) Spellings aren't only unfair as they saddle a person with a lifetime of having to spell it out for people and correct people, they're also likely to cause problems whenever they ring their bank/open an account, get a mortgage or any type of contract..Someone spells it wrong at whatever institution and suddenly things are invalid, they confuse systems (I spent so long looking for something on our law enforcement based system the other day for someone trying every spelling in the world...Think how much time altogether of your child's life this will take up! Just because you want a Yooneeek name for them. Pick a quirky/lesser used name by all means but not an everyday one that people know how to spell, with a confusing illiteracy about it.

I speak from experience!
