Torn between these names for our baby girl! Which do you prefer? Surname is two syllables and starts with B.

I like both names but prefer Beatrice. It was on my list for a long time Especially with the nickname ‘Bea’. DP didn’t like it as much! It’s hard to know if it will go with a your surname without hearing it though.

Whatsyourflava · 26/05/2020 15:11

Love both the same
If your surname begins with a B, then Beatrice might be cooler but can't pick really

georgialondon · 26/05/2020 15:12

Anna.

sweetnosugar · 26/05/2020 15:16

Beatrice. Bea as a nn is lovely!

Do you have a middle name in mind? If not use both!

GU24Mum · 26/05/2020 15:23

Both are good though I love Anna so would choose it for that and also because I'm not sure about the B-B. Some double initials work better than others. Julia Johnson better than Beatrice Baker imo for example.

123Dancewithme · 26/05/2020 15:27

Anna is lovely

TazSyd · 26/05/2020 15:34

Both are lovely, age less names.

Depends what the middle name and your 2nd name are. Which one sounds best.

babynoname23 · 26/05/2020 15:36

I love Anna, it was almost my name but didn't fit my surname apparently

LotusClover · 26/05/2020 15:52

Really dislike Beatrice, especially with the double B initial. Anna on the other hand is lovely.

soanco68 · 26/05/2020 15:55

I am Anna and never liked it and don't get called it, Beatrice I do like.

Rio5555 · 26/05/2020 15:55

Love Beatrice. Anna is a bit frumpy to my ears.

DramaAlpaca · 26/05/2020 15:57

I prefer Anna.

Flappingflamingo · 26/05/2020 16:11

I love beatrice

Poppydog18 · 26/05/2020 16:11

Anna, classic and timeless. I met a little Anna not too long ago and thought how lovely, when I met a little Beatrice I thought what one earth. It's personal choice though, I just prefer classic names x

SneakersandSocks · 26/05/2020 16:14

Both cute but prefer Anna.

Pemba · 26/05/2020 16:23

Anna by miles. Simple, classic, timeless, well known in most countries etc. Easy for a child to learn to write and spell. Just has a nice sound and feel.

Beatrice is OK I guess, but I don't really like the sound it makes in English (beer - triss) and I have the feeling it will turn out to be a bit of a flash in the pan thing as regards to popularity, will fade away again and always be dated to the current period of time.

emmathedilemma · 26/05/2020 16:23

I really like both but fear Beatrice with a surname beginning with B might be too much.

peperethecat · 26/05/2020 16:29

Love Anna.

Edenember · 26/05/2020 16:37

Defs Beatrice from me, I think it’s a beautiful name. Simultaneously delicate and strong. Bea is so gorgeous also. Anna is lovely too though and not overused now.

CourtneyLurve · 26/05/2020 16:40

Anna 100%.

Jj2431 · 26/05/2020 16:45
