Hello Ladies
What would you use for a nickname/short name for a baby girl called Heloise?

I think Eloise would naturally be shortened to Ellie or Elle but nicknames are weird things. My DS name is for example Richard so shortened to Rich but nickname is pick up -as in pick up sticks.
I have a childhood friend who is known as Bell. Her name is Jane. Nicknames just come about from an odd phrase that makes your child laugh or suits their personality, shortened names can be different to nicknames.

My Eloise’s nickname is Ella. She doesn’t like Ellie or Elo, which people sometimes try to use. But at school she’s Eloise always, and only Ella at home.

Elo

Liesl? like one of the children from The sound of music, pronounced ‘Lee -Zell’

Monkeytapper · 24/05/2020 21:28

Or is it ‘Lee -Zul’

AfterSchoolWorry · 24/05/2020 21:28

Elle/Ella/Lou

Ellie or Lo. I'd prefer the latter (as above, Lolo is cute for a very little girl) because it has a certain style I can see carrying into adulthood well.

Badassmama · 24/05/2020 21:57

Hella which I think is hella cool

LexiM · 25/05/2020 14:50

My friend called Heloise is an Ellie.

Ellmau · 25/05/2020 18:19

Ellie.

Try to avoid Easy or Wheezy.

monkeyonthetable · 25/05/2020 18:21

I'd probably go for Lola or even Lucy. Ellie is lovely but so overused these days. It's everywhere.

daisypond · 25/05/2020 18:22

Lulu

Liesl? like one of the children from The sound of music, pronounced ‘Lee -Zell’
That’s a diminutive of Elizabeth in German

Windyatthebeach · 25/05/2020 18:23

Lois
Lolo

RaininSummer · 25/05/2020 18:47
