Struggling with middle names!

Hi all,

First child expected soon (a girl), DH and I are very keen on;

Georgina Emily Florence (surname begins with B)

We would like her to have 2 middle names but I can’t help but think maybe it’s all a bit of a mouthful? We were trying to think of a shorter, one syllable name to replace one of the middle names but we just keep going back to Emily Florence....

Any suggestions?

Stick with what you like.

The number of times in her life she's going to have to say her entire name is very few.

You may find that you/she sometimes naturally drops the second middle name though, just for ease.

Georgina Emily Florence is beautiful. It's elegant but not too frilly/fancy.

Sk1nnyB1tch · 22/05/2020 15:16

I agree with PP, the names flow well and you like them so stick with your first choice.
I have two middle names and very rarely use the second, I've dropped it from my most recent passport and driving license. So that might happen too.

Thank you all 😊 myself and DH both have 2 middle names but at least one of them is very short hence why I was concerned about too many syllables!

How many times do you say your middle names in real life OP?

It really doesn't matter. She could have 6 middle names, the pain would just be form filling!

SnowdropFox · 22/05/2020 15:35

I agree with the others. If you both love it, stick with it! So many people struggle to agree on the name with their partners so you're lucky to find a combo you both like.

Georgina Emily Florence is fine.

LiviLoggs · 23/05/2020 01:21

Its a beautiful name and agree with a PP, not too frilly. Go with what you like, you'll be saying her name hundreds of times a day but rarely her full name! I have two middle names too, both 4 syllables each! I have rarely ever said my full name except when filling out any forms as a PP said!

DramaAlpaca · 23/05/2020 02:32

Stick with it, those names together are just beautiful. I do love a long name that isn't in the least bit frilly or fussy. Good choice.

What about swapping Emily and Florence so she's Georgina Florence Emily B?

finallychangedmyusername · 23/05/2020 08:23

Georgina Emily Florence is lovely and not too long. Yes it's long but not too much of a mouthful IMO. I say stick with it!
I know of an Emily Georgina Holly which is also great.

Sounds lovely, and more importantly, it sounds like it's you favourite. Go for it.
