When I was at school everyone was Emma, Rachel, Rebecca and a few variants of Katy thrown in. Also quite a few Hollies which is odd. I was born in the 1990s.

Claire, Louise, Sarah, Joanne, Katie, (went to school in the 80's)

I've thought for a while the name Louise is due a revival

Mintjulia · 22/05/2020 16:29

Of the 17 girls in my senior school class, 11 of us had the second name Jane. Sad. I hate it.

ClashCityRocker · 22/05/2020 16:29

Late 80s - Laura, Rebecca, Rachel, Sarah

Boys - Andrew, Christopher, Daniel, David

The boys names seem much less dated, apart from maybe David.

Oh and everyone's middle name was Louise, which I guess is the equivalent of Rose and Mae as a middle name!

All girls school in Ireland. Born 1978.
Lisa and Michelle were the most popular names in my year. There were also plenty of Carolines, Joannes, Karens and Olivias in my school. The most popular Irish names were Sinead, Orla, Niamh and Aisling.

Ask any woman from 45-55 and pretty much 90% will have one of 4 middle names; Louise, Mary/Marie, Anne or Margaret.
