Welsh Baby Girl Names

Hello!

I am expecting my first baby in September. I'm English, my partner is Welsh. We'd like to call the baby a Welsh version of an English name (if that makes sense!).

The only ones I know of are Mali (welsh for Molly) and Ffibi (welsh for Phoebe).

Please hit us up with any other ideas! We don't want traditional welsh names due to pronunciation issues and living in England.

Thank you! Grin

Both Mali and Ffibi will be perpetually mispronounced outside of Wales.
How about Ffion?

Ps you're going to have lots of Welsh speaking people saying lots of these type of Welsh names aren't "proper" names in Wales. Don't be put off and I can see you're trying to acknowledge the Welsh history but balance it with a name that will work in England too. Go with what feels right for you both. Pob lwc!

I think Alys is a good bet for England. It's pronounced the same as it's English counterpart Alice. So school and everything would be easy, just a different spelling that's all.
