As above! What does everyone think of Iris for a baby girl.

I love it. It's a mixture of elegant and sweet. I'm hearing a lot of them though.
If popularity bothers you.

MaureenSowerbutts · 21/05/2020 15:52

I love it

Absolutely adore iris, if we have another girl I’d love to call her Iris

lachy · 21/05/2020 15:57

Its one of my DD's names. I love it.

Piggyhoolier · 21/05/2020 15:58

It was my girl name but I had a boy. I’ve only ever met one and she’s in her 30’s so it’s certainly not common in my area. Lovely name, lovely flower, easy to pronounce and spell - what’s not to like!

Glendaruel · 21/05/2020 15:59

Just added it to my list......

SallyOMalley · 21/05/2020 16:01

Gorgeous. I know a baby Iris - love it!

Sunbird24 · 21/05/2020 16:01

It’s my current favourite...

Spied · 21/05/2020 16:01

I don't like it. Plus it's becoming quite common.
It's the next Lily I fear.

IckleBear · 21/05/2020 16:06

Someone said Iris and a little girl thought they said virus... Kinda ruined it

Whatsyourflava · 21/05/2020 16:07

I love it!! It has increased in popularity but if you look at the official statistics, it's numbers have plateaued since 2016 so that's great

elfran · 21/05/2020 16:09

I think it's lovely, though I know three under the age of five, so it's not as uncommon as it once was. Still a nice name, though.

Orphlids · 21/05/2020 16:10

It’s great. Refreshing to have the unusual ‘iss’ sound at the end, instead of the commonplace ‘ah’ or ‘ee’. Sounds very grown up to me. I imagine a strong and capable woman.

Maestro7 · 21/05/2020 16:13

Great! Always good to get feedback! I’m in Ireland so it’s not popular here at all. I think only 22 called it in 2019 according to the statistics office Smile

I love it but I have been put off now by virus post and I keep seeing all these jokes about naming babies Covid, karentine etc

Teatowel1 · 21/05/2020 16:19

I think it's gorgeous.

Mwnci123 · 21/05/2020 16:26

I like it a lot

SierraHotel · 21/05/2020 16:27

Love it. Was on my list but vetoed by DH.

Nestlyn · 21/05/2020 16:28

Beautiful

tenlittlecygnets · 21/05/2020 16:30

Beautiful.

Ellmau · 21/05/2020 19:09

A lovely name and a lovely flower.

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 21/05/2020 19:10

Love 💕

MsSquiz · 21/05/2020 19:32

I love the name Iris and it's a family name on my side - I have an Auntie Iris who was named after her Auntie.
If we have a 2nd DD, she would have it as her middle name

TildaTurnip · 21/05/2020 19:35

I really like it. Agree it is a nice change from the ‘uh’ and ‘ee’ endings.
