Alfred or Oscar?

Hi,

We have got our names down to the final 2! I would apprciate any advice on helping to choose which would be best for our son.

I vote for Oscar - this was the name I had picked out both pregnancies for a boy (had two girls!). I love it. But also like Alfred too.

I prefer Alfred because the shortened Alfie is super cute plus we used to have a dog called Oscar although I do think they are both equally lovely names

Oscar definitely. There's lots of Alfreds, Freddies and Alfies. And Ozzie is great as a nickname for Oscar too.

I like Oscar best.

Not keen on Alfred / Alfie. As a teacher, I've taught a lot of Alfie's it very popular and they've all been 'live wires'.

Oscar. I had two elderly relatives called Alfred so will always be an old man name to me.

I have an Alfred and we call him Fred but Oscar is also lovely. Why not wait and see what suits him when he’s here

I really like both those names. If I chose Alfred I'd use Fred as a nickname though, not Alfie.
