If it is a boy he will be Leonardo.

For a girl I like:
Nell
Penelope (but not Penny)
Matilda ( but there are too many)
Juliet

Can you suggest anything else I might like?

Of you don't like Penny if say don't use Penelope. Just go with Nell. Although Matilda is nice. I can see the appeal of Juliet, but I don't like it personally.

If you like Penelope and Nell then I'd go for Penelope on the birth certificate and use Nell as a nickname.

Glowcat · 19/05/2020 13:22

Nell is lovely on its own or as a shortened form of Helena or Eleanor.

Whatsyourflava · 19/05/2020 13:34

Juliet.

Or Penelope nn Nell.

Siablue · 19/05/2020 20:52

I am not sure about Nell as a shortening for Penelope. I do love it as a shortened version of Elinor though.

I don’t like Jules as a short version of Juliet either.

There are some lovely suggestions. I loved Octavia
Vivienne
Claudia
Felicity (I have a friend called Felicity though)
Nina

Liberty is good too.
I also like Athena.

Sorry, I forgot:
Thalia (pronounced like the muse not like Talia)

ODFOx · 19/05/2020 22:15

I went to school (many many years ago) with a Fenella nn Nell.
Maybe also consider Abigail, Belinda, Charlotte (possibly too popular now), Clarissa, Evelyn (nn Lyn: very underused at the moment in my view).
