Hey everyone.

have found out that we are expecting twin boys!! We absolutely love the name Leo so definitely want to use that, but cannot decide on another name we equally love. Have you got any suggestions?
Many thanks in advance

I know twin boys, both with lovely L names and
I know, I definitely know which one is which. Do I say the wrong name 9 times out of 10 even though I know which one it is! Yes I do.

didmyhousethismornin · 19/05/2020 05:57

Lucas is lovely, only issue with having the same initial is they may get confused with post. I’ve always thought Leo and Max sound lovely together

roff · 19/05/2020 06:31

Do you have any other kids who's names you want them to be similar to OP? Leo and Lucas work well I think

REignbow · 19/05/2020 06:56

I wouldn’t personally go for two names with the same first letter, it’s a little naff (sorry!).

What about Leo and:

Ezra
Jude
Beau
Elijah
Tobias

rainbownugget28 · 19/05/2020 06:59

@didmyhousethismornin that was my reason for not wanting the same initial. They would have different lettered middle names though.
@roff no, this is my first pregnancy.
I really like Xander too, but is that too different to Leo?x

I really dislike the matchy matchy ideas for twins in general. Not a twin myself but lots of experience hearing stories about how twins are treated and how much they dislike being made to feel like half of an identity. Not dismissing their personal bond and closeness which is amazing but they also have a strong need for recognition in their own right.
Two L names is veering this way towards matching pair. Your boys are going to be completely different human beings with their own individual personalities, not a salt and pepper set. You can name them as diversely as you want OP, use whichever names suit your babies when they are born.
Leo is fab!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 19/05/2020 07:13

The post never just comes with your first initial on though does it. It's always your full name. I've never once had a letter saying Miss C...... It's always been Miss Clare........

Blursula · 19/05/2020 08:22

I love the suggestions of Max and Jude! Agree that the same initials for twins might be seen to be too matchy.

I never understand the argument about post as a reason to not give siblings the same initial. I never see post addressed with just my initial on the front. Also, for their generation most things will be paperless. And if you’re that unsure, just open it Confused
