Hi, we are expecting our second baby, a boy! We already have a dd named Hannah, I love her name!

We would like a 'normal' 😕 maybe slightly traditional name, something that will suit him all the way through his life. But still something not too common, I dont want 6 of the same name in his class at school lol.

We both like Ben, what are thoughts on this? Any other suggestions?
Thanks xx

The name Ben doesn’t really do anything for me. It was quite popular 10 or 15 years ago, but I don’t know many little Bens now.

I think Ben and Hannah go nicely. Ben is a great name, familiar but not over used.

Whatsyourflava · 15/05/2020 12:01

Ben is really lovely and sounds amazing with hannah

If you like B names how about Barnaby.

Alternative suggestion: Ellis or Nathan (Nate)

Ben is lovely I work in a school and we have one Ben in a large 2 form entry primary. I know a couple one is over 30 and the other is 10.

I have a Matthew and Christopher (both under four). I liked Dylan but DH didn’t. I expect they’ll be Matt and Chris by their teens which I don’t mind.

I have a Ben. Surprisingly, he was the only one in his primary school and only knows a couple in secondary. He loves his name. There seem to be more duplicates of more "unusual" names these days as people try to be different but don't succeed.

MrsSkr · 15/05/2020 13:41

Thank you all so much for your replies. I love that there arnt many these days, I actually dont know any! I thought the same about Hannah but we do know quite a few wee Hannah's now, but its ok, I still love her name! I definitely dont want to try to go for an unusual name, or anything too out there, I feel it's too overdone these days. I just want a nice, cute, simple name that will last. I do like Nathan and Daniel as people have mentioned, I do know one of each but they are grown up now, these may be contenders.
I should have mentioned, his middle name will be Mark xx

I had a Christopher 28 years ago in June - he's still a 'Christopher' to me!!!! He's Chris to all his mates. I just can't bring myself to say it!!!!

I usually recommend Troy on boys names but maybe Arthur would fit better here
