4th baby name to go with....

Siblings are Freddie, Nina and Eva.

Any inspiration for a 4th? I’ve just found out I’m pregnant at 42 when other kids are teens/nearly teens. I’m terrified so trying to distract myself with fun things like names.

Seb (Sebastian) or Louis/Lewis.

Lena or Joni.

Congratulations!

I’m only 6 weeks atm. I’m just freaking out about everything. I have a pain, I’m going to miscarry, I don’t feel sick yet, I’m going to miscarry, you know. Ours was planned (new partner) but still feels daunting. I don’t actually feel old other than a bad back but I’m very aware I’ll be nearly 50 by the time it starts school.
When is yours due?

42pregnant · 10/05/2020 08:09

@passthemustard I’m only 5 weeks so v v early. Literally just found out. I’m still with my same DH and our kids are 15, 13 and 10. We just ran out of condoms in lockdown So thought the rhythm method combined with withdrawal would be safe at me age. Apparently not!

I have a bad back too. Had spinal surgery three years ago. I’m quite worried about my back and so am trying to do lots of stomach muscle strengthening exercises while I still can. My work are going to be horrified, I just got a promotion.

My top names right now are:
Gabriel; Sebastian; Leo
Alannah; Felicity; Paige

My kids are Kitty, Noah, Esme and Lulu
No doubt it’ll get shortened or nicknamed something bizarre, (Kitty is Caitlin, Esme is Scarlett Esme and Lulu is Selina!)

passthemustard · 10/05/2020 08:16

@42pregnant do not worry about work. Your back will be fine and they can manage that for you. You won’t ever regret a baby. Once it’s here all our worry’s will be gone, we will have a gorgeous new person in our lives and one day it will seem hard to remember a time they weren’t here.
My kids are 8, 12, 15 and 18 but the eldest will be 19 before the baby comes. I never thought I’d be doing this. How does you DH feel?

42pregnant · 10/05/2020 08:23

@passthemustard DH is shocked but being great. He jokes around about us being ancient a lot but I think he’s quite pleased and he’s currently insisting on doing everything for me so I’m enjoying that while it lasts. Have you told your older kids? If so, how did they take it? We haven’t told ours yet and will try and hold out until 12 weeks.

@42pregnant haven't told them yet but I think at least my 2 oldest girls have twigged as I'm not drinking anymore (love a glass of wine) and eldest made me a coffee and I asked for decaf lol. I have a scan booked next week (7 weeks) as I'm totally paranoid but I don't want to tell them too early. They all knew it was a possibility as we've been talking about trying for over a year. (Only has my coil taken out in March though and fell first try!) I'm nervous about my middle 2s reactions, big one won't care she's off to uni in September and little one wants a baby brother quite badly. Their Dad died 3 years ago, little one doesn't really remember and big one old enough to rationalise but I do worry about the middle 2 with their hormones.

@passthemustard I’m so sorry to hear about your first husband’s death. I hope the kids react positively. I think mine will be pleased as they all adore babies but we will see. My girls will eventually have to share a bedroom so that will go down like a lead balloon!

@42pregnant we are going to need to do a loft conversion! Expensive baby!

Iknewyouwerewaitingforme · 10/05/2020 08:52

Go for Violet. It’s a beautiful flower and so far removed from violent! If we added an extra letter into MOST names they could sounds like something else! My best friends got a little Violet and truly I’ve never been close to saying Violent in error or heard anyone else having that slip of the tongue.

KeeefBurtain · 10/05/2020 18:13

Congratulations @42pregnant
I fell pregnant with a surprise 3rd when my eldest 2 were 13 and 14. It was a huge shock to the dynamics but we loved the change so much we had a 4th!

I love arthur but unsure if it goes well with Eva.

Some suggestions:

Frank/ie
Jesse/ie
Sidney/Sydney
George/ie

Leah
Daphne
Clementine
Nancy

Albert
Stanley
Reuben
Vincent (vinny)

HopScotchHop · 11/05/2020 08:18

Congratulations!

I think Thomas (Tom) and Annie go well with your other children’s names.

Spanneroo · 11/05/2020 08:27

Wow OP your names are almost identical to our 4! Our Wilfred is the only one that differs. He goes by Wilf. Close contenders were Robyn, Douglas, Miriam (Miri), Wilbur and Reuben

villamariavintrapp · 11/05/2020 10:24

I like Matilda and Arthur. I think Annie is a bit similar to Nina for me-like it reuses all the same sounds.. a-nee, nee-na. Both nice names though.
