Hi, I’m due our baby boy anytime now,
My partner has his two names. However I am not keen as I like unusual names

Do far

Cassius- gone of this now as I didn’t realise it was so common.
Elyas - Arabic version
Kaidan Arabic
Tareyon
Dante
Amari
Zakiyon
Ishiah
Trey
I like unusual names, I have a daughter already her name is Arabic.
My box will be of mixed heritage this is why I need a beautiful different name
Please feel free to send more ideas/ names
Thanks

And what is your daughter's name?

K1mberlylauren · 08/05/2020 09:47

Amayah

I like the names Christopher and Alexander but I think they would sound a bit funny with Amayah.

Out of your options I think Elyas is the nicest and sounds the best with your daughter's name.

peperethecat · 08/05/2020 10:44

Maybe you could suggest Elyas Christopher or Elyas Alexander?

Some of your other names don't really sound Arabic at all.

BruceWilllis · 08/05/2020 13:45

Ezriel is really nice actually.

IVflytrap · 08/05/2020 14:14

I like Cassius, Elyas and Ezriel the best out of the names you mentioned.

Idris
Skandar
Cassian
Inigo
Evander
Laith
Atlas
Emrys
Zephyr

ArchbishopOfBanterbury · 08/05/2020 14:24

Elias seems a more correct spelling.

I like Cassius too. It's often suggested but I don't think people are generally brave enough to choose it.

NoddingTulip · 08/05/2020 14:37

I would avoid Kaiden of you want unusual name as this is quite popular under various spellings.

Cassius, Elyas(but prefer Elias spelling) and Ezriel are all nice and sound good with Amayah.

I love Christopher and Alexander, but they sound too plain with your dds name. They would be good as middle name options though.

I think from today till little man comes I will just keep saying them over and going through them, I like to feel that I’m putting in a lot of effort with his name, so when he comes I will no exactly what to call him !

Xx

@IVflytrap
I also like cassian it’s actually on my list Aswel, how is emery’s pronounced ?

OP posts:
CeibaTree · 08/05/2020 20:10

I think Trey is the nicest name from your list and if both you and your husband like it then that's surely a strong contender. How come he was happy with an Arabic name for your daughter but now wants a more western name for your son?

Thefaceofboe · 08/05/2020 21:25

I wouldn’t say Cassius is popular where I am, I work in a nursery and we’ve only had 1 Cassius I’ve known. Its my favourite from your list too Grin

peperethecat · 08/05/2020 22:33

My friend is from an Arab country and her brother is called Jed, which I always thought was a nice name.

IVflytrap · 08/05/2020 23:06

@K1mberlylauren

Emrys is pronounced Em-riss. I like it a lot!

K1mberlylauren · 08/05/2020 23:19

@CeibaTree
Hey, It’s because it’s his first son, Alexander means something to his mum, One of the names he likes is his own name, and trey he has liked from young apparently he’s always said he would call his son trey, but he thinks it’s more common now.
We had a chat tonight and I explained that having two names That he likes and as he doesn’t like any of mine are not leaving us much choice for when he arrives, so he has said that he thinks zakiyon is lovely and also Tareyon, and lashai, he said tareyon lashai goes nice together, I dunno men aye !
