Posted previously about the name Peter (still love). Also considering Dominic, what do you think?

I really like Dominic. Peter is ok but I know a lot of middle aged Petes so I think of it as quite dated which would put me off. Perfectly nice name though.

peperethecat · 07/05/2020 15:44

I like both Peter and Dominic.

123Dancewithme · 07/05/2020 15:45

I prefer Peter. Dominic makes me think of Raab and Cummings now!

finallychangedmyusername · 07/05/2020 16:27

Love both Peter and Dominic. Both underused.

LotusClover · 07/05/2020 16:57

Peter is way too dated. Dominic is okay.

Spied · 07/05/2020 17:00

Dislike both. But Dom makes my teeth itch.

MikeUniformMike · 07/05/2020 17:22

Big bad Dom.

SnowdropFox · 07/05/2020 17:23

I know both a little Dom and Peter. Both 2 and dont seem odd or dated on either. I prefer the full Dominic rather than Dom though which is unusual for me, I usually like the short nn version of names.

littlejalapeno · 07/05/2020 17:25

Never known a Dom that I respected or liked... sorry.

FriedasCarLoad · 07/05/2020 17:25

Dominic is fine, and makes a nice change.

Love Peter!

whatausername · 07/05/2020 18:08

I opened the Baby Names section, first thing my eyes landed on was your thread title. Had a sudden vision of a small stature dominatrix 😂

Other than that the name is fine. But I do think of that nasty jerk Cummings and of Raab who doesn't seem like a very nice person and I don't say that because he is a Tory.

Lyricallie · 07/05/2020 18:09

I think Dominic is lovely. Prefer it to Peter.

Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav · 07/05/2020 18:09

Quite like Dominic, haven't come across one for years, would be a nice change

Lifeaback · 07/05/2020 18:09

Peter much better than Dominic IMO- I really hate Dom/Dominic

whatausername · 07/05/2020 18:11

Oh and of my old colleague who was cheating on his wife with a junior co-worker. He used me as a cover and told his wife he was at my office when he was doing the dirty with the other woman! What fun that job was. eyeroll

chunkycoke · 07/05/2020 18:12

I like Dominic

daisypond · 07/05/2020 18:13

I like both.

smeerf · 07/05/2020 18:17

I adore Dominic, the only reason we didn't use it is our surname begins with D. Peter is just a bit 'wet' sounding, maybe it's the rabbit association?

DramaAlpaca · 07/05/2020 18:35

I really like it.

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 07/05/2020 18:50

Dominic and Sebastian were the two boys names I was determined to have when I was a teen - never happened because I ended up reproducing with someone with a non-British background and we went for names that worked with both ethnicities, but they're still nice names (OH thinks they're too posh but I don't care)

Mucklowe · 07/05/2020 21:22

Dominatrix.

Serenity05 · 08/05/2020 14:41

Dominic is a fine name but sadly sullied by Raab and Cummings these days (unless you're a Tory, in which case crack on). But Peter is lovely and deserves a comeback.
