Baby no 3. I really like the name but can’t decide on which spelling is ‘the’ spelling - thanks!

It's a nice name. I'd go with Fern.

LotusClover · 03/05/2020 13:26

I think Fern is the "official" spelling, but the only one I ever knew spelt it Ferne.

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 03/05/2020 13:28

I like spelling 2

Lulubon · 03/05/2020 13:31

I think I prefer 2 or 3

Fern. It's a lovely name spelt like this. Not keen on the fancy spellings.

Wheresthebiffer2 · 03/05/2020 13:45

I like the spelling Fearne for a girl. It is pretty.
The regular spelling Fern is a sheepdog's name. (not being rude, it's true, our local shepherd has a Fern, she's lovely, white and very obedient). He also has a Lassie.

daisypond · 03/05/2020 13:54

Fern. Don’t add extra random letters to it.

Ash06 · 03/05/2020 13:58

I like it spelt Ferne

MikeUniformMike · 03/05/2020 14:51

Fern.

Ferne looks wrong and Fearne looks like Fear.

worstwitch18 · 03/05/2020 14:57

Fern. You could get away with Ferne but Fearne is likely to be constantly misspelled and mispronounced.

It's also spelled Fern for the little girl in Charlotte's Web if that's worth anything to you. Grin

DramaAlpaca · 03/05/2020 15:16

Just Fern. It doesn't need any extra letters.

Peachbubble · 03/05/2020 17:52

Prefer it spelt Fern. Ferne is OK, not at all keen on Fearne.
